The offseason which some hoped would build upon last year's isn't exactly going so well. Shaun Marcum was shipped off to Milwaukee, John Buck bounced to Florida, and Scott Downs got the money he was looking for in LA. Kevin Gregg isn't likely to come back either. 

Overbay is now a Pittsburgh Pirate. Good luck trying to get five million dollars worth of value from him... 

Thank Jebus for Proctor and Gamble, because Bounty paper towels did a great job cleaning my vomit off the floor after I read about the Carl Crawford signing.

The dude is now the highest paid outfielder in history and he's not once hit 20 home runs or knocked in 100 RBI's.

Meanwhile in Colorado, Carlos Gonzalez has an erection—but I digress.

It's been 17 long years since we've had something to cheer about, a parade to attend. Our hockey and basketball teams don't give us much hope, and we have the NFL every once in a while, but it's not authentic. If only we could party like it was 1993...

In signing Carl Crawford, the Boston Red Sox have powered their way back to the top of the AL East rankings, and don't look to give that up too easily. The Yanks are doing fine, and if they land Cliff Lee, well, nothing will have changed much in the Bronx. 

The Texas Rangers have always hoped that when they acquired Cliff Lee last year, that it wouldn't just be for the remainder of the season.  They were hoping that they would be able to sign him this offseason despite him becoming a free agent. 

With all the talk with the Rangers lately about re-signing Cy Young Pitcher Cliff Lee lately, one fact has surfaced lately: It will cost an arm and a leg to sign him to a long-term contract.

Over the weekend the Blue Jays made the latest in a series of deals aimed at building a championship caliber club a few years down the road. This one saw the Jays second best starting pitcher from 2010, Shaun Marcum, head to Milwaukee in return for top prospect Brett Lawrie.

According to ESPN, the Toronto Blue Jays are trying hard to sign slugging first baseman Carlos Pena to a contract.

The Blue Jays are without a first baseman, as Lyle Overbay became a free agent. The Jays were not interested in his services, so they passed on re-signing him.

The Jays, who were the most powerful extra-base-hitting team last season, appear to want to just keep adding to the power that gave them so much success last season.

According to the Milwaukee Sentinel, the Toronto Blue Jays have traded No. 1 pitcher and staff ace Shaun Marcum to the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for prospects, none of which have been confirmed by any sources.

Some reports have the Jays acquiring middle infielder and Canadian Brett Lawrie as part of the package, but details aren't spilling out. Other reports I'm hearing are its for third baseman Mat Gamel, but again, these are early reports.

With the Winter Meetings set to run December 6th to 9th in Orlando, Florida, talk is spreading like wildfire among baseball people that the Jays are pushing hard to try and acquire former Cy Young winner Zack Greinke from the Kansas City Royals.

A report yesterday had claimed the Boston Red Sox were in the process of finalizing a deal that would see perennial all-star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez shipped to Boston for a plethora of prospects including pitching prospect Casey Kelly, first baseman Anthony Rizzo, outfielder Raymond Fuentes and a player to be named later (PTBNL).

Breaking news came to light today as the Red Sox and Gonzalez could not agree on a contract extension by this afternoon's deadline according to SI's Jon Heyman.
