Each Team's Flaws in the National League Central

As of today, the National League Central is the closest division in all of baseball as all six teams are within four and a half games of first place. Leading the way are the Milwaukee Brewers with a 35-29 record followed by the Cardinals, Reds, Cubs, Pirates, and finally the Astros. As we are about a third of the way into the season, each team in the division has a flaw that will need to be fixed if they are to have a shot at winning the division.

Sammy Sosa Tested Positive for Steroids; 102 To Go

So much for waiting for the Hall of Fame to call you. A breaking report shows the Sosa was one of the 104 players that tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in 2003.

The report cites lawyers knowledgeable of the drug testing results from that year. Sosa would not address allegations of steroid use, and now we know why.

He's a cheater, and now this validates it. His home run race against Mark McGwire cannot be taken seriously. His MVP award is now in serious question. He forgot how to speak English because he knew he was doing the game wrong.

Prince Ready to Trade His Crown for a Halo

Prince Fielder has looked downright kingly this year.

The 25-year old is hitting for average and power while playing top-notch defense at first base. Without a question, he is in the midst of a great season and makes a lethal one-two punch alongside slugging outfielder, Ryan Braun.

Abstain From Baseball? Watch Your Mouth

Just because the Phillies were off yesterday doesn’t mean I have to stop writing about them. I’m a babe and I’m Irish. That means I can’t stop my obsession with boys and I can’t stop talking—but not necessarily in that order.

But when my husband asked if I could abstain from baseball for just one day, I was speechless.

Five Recent Trades in Atlanta Braves History That Should Scare You

After reading one too many articles about trade ideas for the "desperate" Atlanta Braves, I figured it's time we took a journey back into franchise history and remembered the types of moves we've made in similar situations.

For every McGriff deal, there's been a Teixeira.

The deal may sound good at the time (finally!

Could The Red Sox Trade Saito Instead Of a Prospect Or Penny?

There have been rumors swirling about who the Boston Red Sox should trade or demote to make room on their roster for the return of John Smoltz from his minor league rehab appearances.

Most of the rumors are swirling around Brad Penny being traded or Daniel Bard being demoted.

But there is one other option that the Red Sox have considered, which would involve trading Takashi Saito for a hitter.

Apparently, the Red Sox had a trade in place with the Texas Rangers in which they would have traded Saito for Hank Blalock.

St. Louis Cardinals: Go by the Numbers

After a week or so of below-average baseball, the Cardinals still find themselves in second place of the NL Central.

First Half Waiver Wire All Stars

Everyone tries to find that hidden gem on draft day. I know its still early but here is an All-Star team of guys who probably started out the year on your waiver wire or buried deep on someone's bench. I'm not saying that these guys will ever make a major league baseball All Star team but they have performed better than anyone could have ever expected them to do so far this year.
Some have revived careers, some are capitalizing on a chance that was finally given to them. Will they keep it up? Only time will tell.
