The Oakland A’s have planned to contend in 2015 all along.

Ben Zobrist, one of the most versatile players and best bargains in Major League Baseball since becoming a full-time player with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2009, has a new home. 

After playing more than 1,000 MLB games with the Rays, Zobrist has been traded to the Oakland Athletics, according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports:

The San Francisco Giants may have won the 2014 World Series, but the season belonged to the American League Champion Kansas City Royals.

The 2015 MLB Hall of Fame class has officially been announced, as it will be a four-player class of Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio earning enshrinement in the hallowed halls of Cooperstown this year.

The three pitchers are each first-ballot selections and deservedly so, as they were among the greatest to ever toe the rubber. But for Biggio, it took three tries to finally gain induction.

The 2015 MLB Hall of Fame class is complete, and it's one of the most unique in history. 

Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio were all granted admission to Cooperstown by the Baseball Writers Association of America on Tuesday afternoon, making it the largest class in 60 years, per Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan:

Many of the big dominoes have already fallen on the 2015 MLB offseason, but with roughly a month and a half to go until pitchers and catchers begin reporting to spring training, there is still work to be done this winter.
