Ok, New York Yankees, you have the best record in baseball. You have 50 come-from-behind victories, you have a clubhouse full of likable players, who seem to enjoy playing with and for each other, and beginning next week what does it all mean? Absolutely nothing.

Reports coming out of New York say that Commissioner Selig and the MLB do not plan to issue any disciplinary action unto New York Yankees starting third baseman Alex Rodriguez. 

The decision was made once the investigation was complete, this coming from “sources” in baseball with intimate knowledge of the situation.

Rodriguez did meet with officials from Major League Baseball’s Department of Investigations and Labor Relations Department in March after he admitted to steroid use. 

On Tuesday, July 14th, Major League Baseball hosted its 80th All-Star game in St. Louis, Missouri. On hand were some of the St. Louis Cardinals legends, guys like Lou Brock, Red Schoendeinst, Bruce Sutter, Ozzie Smith, Bob Gibson and Stan Musial.

The New York Yankees have reached the halfway point of the season at 48-33, four games better than last season at this time (44-37), and have won 10 of their last 11 games entering their Monday afternoon tilt against the Toronto Blue Jays.

With the team at the exact midpoint of the season, now is a great time to assess how the players are performing this year.

Clutch: the word that is tattooed into every idiotic baseball fan's vocabulary, and into the ears of every intelligent baseball fan during an argument regarding a player's talent. 

Why is it that we assign more value to performances in the seventh, eighth, or ninth innings as opposed to the previous six innings? 

Why is it Joe Crede can strike out three times, leaving nine men on base, but if he hits a solo home run in the ninth inning to send the fans home, he is glorified for his performance?

Riding a six-game winning streak, the New York Yankees made it seven consecutive wins on Wednesday night by beating the Seattle Mariners by a score of 4-2.

Tied 2-2 in the bottom of the sixth inning, Alex Rodriguez smashed a two-run homer into Monument Park, breaking the tie and lifting the Yanks past the M’s.

We are not quite mid-way through the season and Alex Rodiguez is less than two months removed from his time on the disabled list, and nowhere near removed from the media's flaming maw.

After nearly a month-long hiatus, I have returned to Bleacher Report, but who cares, lets get on with the article.

It didn't take long Thursday night before Alex Rodriguez tied Reggie Jackson for 11th on the all-time home run list with his 563rd blast of his career in the first inning.

What more could I ask for since I was there?  Well the ball could of landed in my lap, but that would be too good to be true.  I got a nice view of it as I was three rows back in left and I knew it was gone as soon as it reached the outfield.  The wind was blowing out.
