NY Baseball Live Recap with Joe Boesch

As many of you know, I was on the NY Baseball Live radio show with Joe Boesch on Sunday night. For those of you who are not familiar with the show, it’s a program on WGBB 1240 AM in New York that focuses just on baseball.

I was on with Joe for about 20 minutes and we talked about a wide variety of topics.

Here is a recap of the show:

We talked about Johnny Damon signing with the Detroit Tigers and what it means for Detroit.

I gave my opinion on what teams had a good offseason and who are the teams to beat in 2010.

Phillies Rotation Preview

While the Philadelphia Phillies have been a hit first, pitch second type of team the last few years, the gap might hinge just a bit closer in 2010.

The 10 Best Home-Grown Red Sox in the Majors Today

Beyond Hanley Ramirez and the mammoth 2005 deal that sent the slugging shortstop to Florida in exchange for Josh Beckett, Mike Lowell, and Guillermo Mota, who are the best former Red Sox toeing the rubber and flashing their leather today?

You know some of these, but some may surpise you. Who else in your fantasy draft was once a Red Sox? Who should have called Fenway home, but Fenway shut the door?

Here are my top ten.

For those not familiar, I pick a team, player, or any other topic in sports that I have five random thoughts about.  If you like 'em, read 'em.  I'm trying to get 'em on here every day!

Today's lucky random sports topic is...what the heck is going on with Joba Chamberlain???

The Blyleven Series, Part 1: Blyleven, Morris, and Pitching To the Score

Just in case anyone missed the month old occurrence, the BBWAA elected their Hall of Fame class for 2010.

Standard for the course, a lot of anger resulted from the public this year over some noteworthy omissions. Robbie Alomar was one, and Bert Blyleven was denied admission to the Hall in his next to last go around.

Talkin Rays with Rise of the Rays

Here at Bronx Baseball Daily we cover the Yankees all day and everyday, but we don’t always spend a lot of time on the other teams in the league. So lately we’ve been reaching out to some other blogs to get a better look at the Yankees' opponents.

Brian Roberts and Fantasy Baseball 2010: Roberts Is Hurt, Rankings To Change?

According to Peter Schmuck of The Baltimore Sun , Brain Roberts is being reported as having a “small” herniated disk in his lower back, something he has been dealing with for about a month.

JC's Dodger Line Drives | Feb. 22: Manny Ramirez Won't Be in LA Come 2011

The wire services are crackling with what is deemed to be news today—Manny Ramirez is saying he will not return to the Dodgers in 2011!

This revelation ranks right up there with water being wet and the sky being blue.

Any Dodger fan who is paying attention knows this will be Manny's last season in Dodger blue. They also are aware if fate sends the season sideways, the team would look to deal Manny to an American League team.

Yankees Will Pay the Price for Losing Matsui and Damon

For the first time in decades, financial constraints may have hampered the Yankees.

Whatever the cause, the Yankees enter 2010 as an inferior team. At least one compared to the unit that won the 2009 World Series.

The Philadelphia Phillies' Top Five Postseason Moments

For having the distinction as the longest standing professional sports franchise in one city spanning 128 years, it is somewhat amazing that a large concentration of the Philadelphia Phillies organization's postseason highlights have come in the most recent 30 years.

Certainly, some of this relates to Major League Baseball's format changes that first added a round of league playoffs with the initial formation of divisions and then expanded to the current four playoff participant approach in each league.
