Moving David Wright to First Base

I heard this idea come up again a few days ago. I've kicked it around, and I'm going to make a case for it. I'm not sure that I believe in it 100 percetn, but, again, I'm just seeing where going in this direction takes us. This sort of plan gears more towards "building for the future."

Solving The Mets' Problems: The Eight Step Solution

Let me start off by apologizing. Work has been crazy, but I am back. I am not going to let the naysayers keep me from posting, so there. I am here, and I am ready to go. I decided that today would be as good a day as any to construct my offseason guide for what the Mets need to do. I am going to go step by step for what may be a cost-effective and solid way of getting this team back together. This team has money to spend, but we all know that the Wilpons have been swindled in the Bernie Madoff scheme a lot more then we are being lead to believe.

Don't Be Fooled: Pavano Edition

There were few stories that were better to watch this year than Carl Pavano’s re-emergence into baseball. After winning just nine games from 2005-08, Pavano came back with a vengeance this season, winning 14 games for a Twins team that made a remarkable run to the playoffs. As good of a story as this has been, there is worry that comes out of this. I am afraid that Omar Minaya might try and sign Pavano to the Mets.

Would The Mets Signing Wang Be Right?

Rumors across town are circulating about the status of Chien Ming Wang and whether or not he will be tendered a contract by the Yankees. Most people around baseball seem to think that the Yankees will not offer him a deal, but they may try to bring him back at a much cheaper price.

State of the Minors With Jonathan Mayo

Recently, I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to conduct an email-based interview with MLB.COM writer Jonathan Mayo.

CC Sabathia Or Felix Hernandez? Who Will Be The Next 300 Winner?

The experts agree, there is a great chance Randy Johnson is the last 300 game winner: the bullpens, the lack of 20 game winners, it all points in that direction.

But does it really? A little analysis of history and current top pitchers indicate something else.

I am sure we will see a 300-win man again. Definitely. Not for another 10 to 15 years, and maybe even longer, but why shouldn’t CC Sabathia or Felix Hernandez get there.

Why Mess with Dustin Pedroia's Success?

Apparently the Boston Red Sox management is in complete panic mode.

Dustin Pedroia's Gesture Broadens Red Sox' Options

The news that Dustin Pedroia is willing to move to shortstop to accommodate the Red Sox is a sign of his selflessness. It is also a sign of his willingness to do whatever it takes to help his team win.

But, naturally, questions have arisen as to whether Pedroia can actually play short, whether he has the range, and, particularly, the arm strength for the position.

However, it's important to remember that Pedroia has a long history of success at shortstop, going all the way back to college.

2009 Major League Baseball Dream Team

Yes, I realize that it is, in fact December. 2010 Opening Day is 124 days away and it seems like a lot longer. To hold me over until then, I will immerse myself in stats and projections and envy Matthew Berry's awesomeness. This list is basically a collection of the best and brightest players of the 2009 regular season. Enjoy.
