Yankees' Prospect Jesus Montero: The Best Catching Prospect in Baseball?

Adam Foster of Project Prospect thinks so , and heaps a ton of praise on the 20-year old. He says that, "we see Jesus Montero as a potential once-in-a-generation hitter. And to us, that gives him the edge over Santana and Posey, even though Montero is a poor bet to stick at catcher."

That last note is the only reason this is debatable. If offensive talent is all that is being discussed, Jesus Montero wins hands down.

Brett Myers On The Astros Mind?

MLB rumors" target="_blank">Jerry Crasnick reports for ESPN that the Houston Astros are reportedly kicking the tires on Brett Myers, which makes some sense.  Myers should be a cheap alternative in 2010 with a pretty strong upside, and the ability to pitch in the rotation or out of the pen.  I guess the real question is whether or not Myers is healthy enough to stand up to the rigors of a full season?

Last Wednesday, Topps named new Royals acquisition Chris Getz the top rookie second baseman of 2009.

Cubs Lose Out on Billy Wagner, Takashi Saito May Now be an Option

When Cubs General Manager Jim Hendry re-signed left-handed reliever John Grabow to a two-year extension last month, he removed the Cubs from the hunt for free agent southpaw Billy Wagner.

Houston Astros: A Modest Proposal

Recently, I took Richard Justice of the Houston Chronicle up on his offer to "fix the Astros", and what came out of my research and conclusion was that the Astros could feasibly win in 2010 .
