First off, let me congratulate the Yankees on winning their 27th World Championship by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 in Game Six at the new Yankee Stadium.

The point of this article is to go in depth into the number 27, and even using the two and the seven in a math equation to bring up a significance. I hope you enjoy.

27 = The number of world championships for the New York Yankees after defeating the Philadelphia Phillies to win the World Series in Six games.

As many people at the beginning of the 2009 season predicted, the New York Yankees have returned to glory to win their 27th World Series.

But this one shouldn't count.

As with Barry Bonds, who used steroids throughout much of the 2000's, the Yankees have also used an unfair advantage.

Money.

In my opinion, the Yankees would not have won this title without the help of free agency.

After toiling in obscurity for a decade, a young team of nobodies returns their franchise to the playoffs. Led by a well-balanced lineup with just enough punch and a pitching staff with enough solid arms to hold a team down, the nobodies prove talented enough to compete, but underappreciated enough to surprise.

After earning a split through the first four games of the ALDS, the nobodies head to Oakland for a decisive game five—an all but certain on paper loss.

The night of Game Six of the 2009 World Series could be a memorable one for Yankee fans. It could be the night they finally get a chance to celebrate their 27th World Series, and their first since 2000. But for Hideki Matsui, it could be his last night as a Yankee at Yankee Stadium.

Hideki Matsui will be a free agent at the end of the season. The signs are not looking to bright for him to get resigned. The Yankees have said before they are more likely leaning towards re-signing Johnny Damon and letting Matsui go.

The New York Yankees have been a team on fire during 2009. The Yankees' success can be seen through their 2009 World Series appearance. But there is always that saying, "Behind every successful man, there is a beautiful woman," the Yankees hold true to this saying. The women behind the New York Yankees give a whole new meaning to 'on fire.' These women are hot! I'll let you see for yourself in this presentation.

I admit it.

I didn't expect anything from Pedro in game two which saw him go 6+ innings and give up a few runs, two of which came via the home run to Traitor Tex and Hideki Matsui respectively.
