Tigers' Prospect Scott Sizemore Breaks Ankle

According to MLive.com , Detroit Tigers’ second base prospect Scott Sizemore broke his ankle trying to turn a double play in an Arizona Fall League game on Thursday.

Now you might be asking A. Who is Sizemore? and B. Why is it important for you to know that he broke his ankle on Thursday?

Heaven Knows: Can the Angels Come Back in the ALCS?

Despite what the media would have you believe, the New York Yankees haven’t won their 40th pennant yet. In fact, after Thursday night’s amazing comeback victory, the Los Angeles Angels are very much alive and kicking in the American League Championship Series. The Yankees may still be the favorite—especially as the series shifts back to Gotham—but the Angels aren’t done yet. They do, however, have an uphill battle in front of them.

My Thoughts On The 2010 New York Mets: Second Base

Last off-season, second basemen, Orlando Hudson let everyone know that he would love to play for the New York Mets. Sadly enough, he did not come to the Big Apple in 2009.

Instead, he headed over to Los Angeles to play with the Dodgers. The Mets were stuck with aging Luis Castillo. Many Mets fans were getting on Castillo. Bad things were expected from him in 2009.

He proved us wrong, but not until he proved us right. After he made his famous dropped pop up in the Yankees vs Mets game that allowed the Yankees to win the game, he turned it on.

Not By the Hair of My Chin: The 10 Most Grotesque Goatees in the MLB

There are a number of trends in baseball that I'd love to see die; puka necklaces, the overuse of the phrase "going yard", and shaving cream pies come to mind. At the top of the list, however, is the goatee. Into the 1980s, the mustache dominated baseball facial hair. Amazing hair patterns graced the upper lips of players such as Rollie Fingers, Catfish Hunter, and Goose Gossage, just to name a few. Popularized by the likes of actors Burt Reynolds, Charles Bronson, and Chuck Norris, the "stache made players look heroic, if not a bit villainous.

World Series: Philadelphia Phillies Have Options at DH

The Phillies will wait, at least another day, to discover their opponent in the World Series. Game Six of the American League Championship Series was pushed back a day, due to the rain storms yesterday that washed the Northeast.
When the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim meet again tonight, the Phillies could find out who their opponent will be, with the Yankees leading the series 3-2.

Review of Citi Field for Stadium Journey

Much has been said about the Mets and their move into brand new Citi Field this past spring.

There have already been many memorable moments both there and at their former residence, Shea Stadium, and I hope you enjoy reading my review.

My husband and I attended the September 20, 2009 game at Citi Field.

This review was originally published on Stadium Journey.com which contains reviews for MLB and NFL stadiums.

Stephen Strasburg Fantasy Wake-Up Call?

Last season the fantasy baseball world was abuzz over Matt Wieters and the potential impact he could make.  Of course, all the hype caused his value on draft day to rise exponentially, costing owners who gambled on him dearly.

Come To Think Of It: Rainouts May Benefit Angels in ALCS

The torrential downpours in the Bronx won't likely affect the New York Yankees starting pitching plans, but it could benefit the Angels. For if the series goes to a seventh game, expect John Lackey to become available.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi said veteran lefty Andy Pettitte will still be on the mound on Sunday for a game six, while some are clamoring for CC Sabathia. Pettitte owns four series-clinching wins among his 15 career postseason victories: both tied for the most in baseball history.

Come To Think Of It: Who Is Tom Ricketts and What Will He Do as Cubs Owner?

The Chicago Cubs have announced a press conference for Friday to introduce new owner Tom Ricketts. But allow me to provide an early glimpse into what type of owner he is likely to be.

First off, just who is this guy who plunked down an estimated $642 million (out of the total bid of around $900 million) to buy the Cubs?

Minnesota Twins' Offseason Blueprint: Letting Go (The Orlando Cabrera Edition)

With the Joe Mauer situation on the back-burner, the Twins now can turn their attention to which of their internal free agents they would like to retain for the next season. With five guys slated for free agency, the Twins will obviously have to make the tough decisions on who they should bring back and who they shouldn't.
