Often times the JoeSportsFan inbox receives press releases announcing “big things” in the world of sports and corporate America. The announcement for Oreo’s “Ultimate Sibling Rivalry” is one such example, and while the commercial aired 10 days ago, it’s worth revisiting for a couple of reasons.

1. Manning Brothers and Williams Sisters to Compete in Ultimate Sibling Rivalry with a Twist, Lick and Dunk

Fantasy Baseball Waiver Candy - April 26th

Pujols, Cardinals Steal One from Cubs

ST. LOUIS – As evenly matched as the Cardinals and Cubs appear to be so far this season, each game between the two is all the more crucial and key in either team’s bid for a National League Central Division title.

It was hardly surprising that Friday’s series opener in St. Louis came down to a key hit and a bit of aggressive base running.

Fantasy Baseball Tonight: 4/23

Through three innings, Cole Hamels looked like his old self again. He struck out six of the first nine batters he faced. Then in the fourth he gave up a two run homer to Ryan Braun, and then was struck on the shoulder with a batted ball by big ole' Prince Fielder. Fantasy owners around the country have been holding their breath but, thankfully, tonight I am reading that it is just a bruise, and Hamels says he will be out there for his next start.

Intern May Lose Baby in Sports Museum Bankruptcy

Marissa Friday is a lifelong New York Yankee fan. One of her dreams is to work for the Yankees one day. She thought an unpaid internship with the Sports Museum of America in lower Manhattan would help build her resume. Little did she know that she might lose her baby in the process.

Bradley already upended by Chicago media blitz, fans

Milton Bradley is quickly learning it’s not all fun and games in the Windy City

CHICAGO – It didn’t take long at all for Milton Bradley to implode. Is it really a surprise to anyone that this is happening in Chicago?

When Bradley first signed with the Cubs, he brushed off the idea that the Bleacher Bums and Addison Alcoholics would get to him. Guess what? It’s happening.

Brewers Bullpen Settling Down After Rough Start

Baseball fans hear it every year: bats win you games in April and bullpens win you games in October.
Unfortuantely for the Brewers, bullpens have not helped the cause of winning games in April, either.
Currently, the Brewers bullpen sports a 4.65 ERA, which going into today was good for 17th in the league.  While the Brewers certainly do not want to be at that spot at the end of the year, the improvement of the bullpen from the beginning of the year (5.73 through the first two series) has

San Francisco Giants' 2009 Season Taking Shape with a Few Surprises

Now seems as good as any to step back from the San Francisco Giants' season and take a look at how things are shaping up thus far.

The boys are coming off a two-game "sweep" of the San Diego Padres—a small measure of retribution for the three-game variety the Fathers put on SF when our guys visited Petco about 10 days ago.

But, in this writer's opinion, two games a series do not make so there's no need for a specific recap dedicated to the duet.

New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox: Baseball's Regional Rumble Resumes

Just 15 games into the 2009 season, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox renew their rivalry with a three-game series at Fenway Park in glorious summer-like weather beginning on Friday.

But, does anyone outside the Northeast Corridor care?

This weekend’s series is taking a backseat to the NFL Draft, but I am fascinated by what could happen between these teams.

The Confidence Game

I always wonder about how managers deal with the various attitudes and personalities on a roster. Baseball is a marathon, not a sprint; which means there are going to be lots of ups and downs.
