As I mentioned in my first article introducing the Bleacher Report Professional League, I will be writing updates on the league regularly about transactions, the draft, and results throughout the season. Tomorrow night is the draft, and I will be recapping the results afterwards, here is a link to the league:

They say nobody's perfect.

That may be true, but that won't stop me from trying to create the perfect baseball player.

In this article I will combine players with specific talents to create the perfect baseball player.

P.S.: I want to apologize to Mo Vaughn in advance (you'll find out why momentarily).

Drafted: 18th Round, 2006 (Carmichael, CA)

Height: 6′4″

Weight: 215 lbs

Born: September 25, 1987

Anderson was scheduled to attend college and play ball at U-Cal, Berkeley after starring for TEAM USA during the 2005 PanAm Championships and leading California high schoolers in home runs in 2006.

While he had the talent to be a first round or first round supplemental pick in the ‘06 draft, the commitment to Berkeley caused many teams to shy away.

The Phillies made a valiant attempt to defend their championship last season, but came up shy as they eventually fell to the Yankees in the World Series. Nonetheless, the loss to the Bronx Bombers should not diminish the club’s accomplishments during the season—an NL East title (with a 93-69 record) and a second straight National League pennant.

The Atlanta Braves posted a record of 86-76 last season, an improvement of 14 games over their 72-90 mark of 2008.

The ballclub made several changes this winter and heading into the new season, it appears that it may have to take a step back before it can take a step forward.

The biggest holes to fill will be the departure of RHP Javier Vazquez from the starting rotation and closer Rafael Soriano from the bullpen. Additionally, they’ll have to find replacements at first base (Adam LaRoche), second base (Kelly Johnson) and left field (Garrett Anderson).

This is my sixth and final division preview before the 2010 season kicks off in the first week of April.  The AL East is home to some strong teams that hold high aspirations for 2010, including a World Championship.  Here is the breakdown (in alphabetical order):

Baltimore Orioles

The group of baseball bloggers known as Baseball Bloggers Alliance (BBA) announced today a partnership with former Yankees reliever Goose Gossage. The Hall of Fame reliever agreed to lend his name to the organization.

BBA is naming one of their annual postseason awards after Gossage. The award that goes to the top relief pitcher in each league will be called the Goose Gossage Award.

The sun is shining and the birds are chirping.  The 2010 baseball season is right around the corner.  In less than a week, our favorite teams will finally be playing meaningful games again. 

This is the time of year where every baseball fan is optimistic for their team.  Every team starts off with the same record.  Some teams may have more promise than others, but every team deserves some optimism. 

Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock.

The wait is almost over for Chicago Cubs baseball.  If your glass is half-full, then you're probably very optimistic about this season.

On the other hand, you might not be so rosy about this Cubs squad and might not think too much of 2010.

Either way, the 25-man roster has been finalized, and manager Lou Piniella will head out to the dugout for his fourth season on the north side.

This squad is likely his least talented in his four seasons, but anything can happen in the game of baseball.

“Hey Hey Hey!” According to a recent press release, New York Yankee ace CC Sabathia has agreed to play Fat Albert in the sequel to the 2004 film of the same name. Sabathia will take over for Keenan Thompson, who played the title character in the first movie.

Filming of Fat Albert 2: When Pudding Attacks is set to begin the day after the 2010 World Series, which the Yankees are expected to win.
