Cleveland Indians Hall of Famer Bob Feller Enters Hospice Care Center

Wednesday evening, Cleveland Indians vice president of public relations Bob DiBiasio announced that Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Feller has been transferred from the Cleveland Clinic to a hospice care center for the terminally ill. 

The 92-year-old Feller recently entered the Clinic suffering from pneumonia.  The illness was the most recent health issue for the Hall of Famer.  In August, Feller was diagnosed with leukemia, a month later a pacemaker was installed.

Carl Crawford: Red Sox To Sign Free Agent Outfielder

According to ESPN Boston, the Boston Red Sox are ready to sign free agent Carl Crawford to a seven-year $142 million contract on Thursday night.

Until just now, Crawford was expected to be leaning toward signing with the Los Angeles Angels, but it appears that the Red Sox have made the sweeter offer.

Another free agent outfielder, Jayson Werth (formerly of the Philadelphia Phillies), just signed with the Washington Nationals on Sunday for a seven-year $126 million deal.

MLB Rumors: Yankees Offer Cliff Lee Six-Year, $138-150 Million Deal

After months and weeks of speculation, rumors and debates, the Yankees are breaking out their checkbook for the biggest prize on the free agent market.

The Yankees and general manager Brian Cashman officially made their first offer to free agent left-handed pitcher Cliff Lee for a six-year deal and a contract ranging anywhere from $138-150 million dollars.

Since the Baseball Winter Meetings began on Monday in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, the Lee rumors to different teams have been running rampant.

Is Free Agent Starter Carl Pavano Next on the Milwaukee Brewers Wish List?

According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Brewers GM Doug Melvin confirmed that the Brewers were one of the teams that met with Carl Pavano and his agent, Tom O'Connel, on Tuesday.

Melvin was rather tight lipped about the meeting saying, "I don't want to get into anything other than we met with him."

MLB Rumors: Los Angeles Angels Seem Likely Candidates To Land Carl Crawford

There has been talk and speculation that the New York Yankees and free-agent outfielder Carl Crawford have spoken and that there is interest on the part of the Yankees.

The Yankees were informed by Crawford, however, that he really wants to play in Anaheim, and that he prefers the more laid-back attitude of the West Coast. The California money isn’t bad, either.

Minnesota Twins Looking to Re-Sign Carl Pavano

According to ESPN.com, the Minnesota Twins are making a "serious push" to re-sign Carl Pavano.

Pavano has spent the last year-and-a-half in the Twin Cities after being acquired from the Cleveland Indians in 2009.

Last season Pavano stepped up as a top-of-the-rotation starter for the Twins, going 17-11 with a 3.75 ERA.

Paul Konerko Re-Signs With Chicago White Sox: O Captain! Their Captain!

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to a deal for Paul Konerko for three years and $37.5 million. Konerko will receive $12 million in the first two years, $6 million in the third year and seven years deferred at $1 million each.

Negotiations were said to be at a "standstill" Tuesday, but apparently that didn't last long as movement toward an agreement came at around midnight central standard time.

Roger Clemens: Judge Delays Rocket's Perjury Trial Till July

Roger Clemens' widely anticipated perjury trial has been delayed until July, as the judge granted the defense more time to review the mountains of evidence presented by the prosecution. 

Federal investigators reportedly said that the case has generated over 54,000 pages of evidence, and Clemens' lawyer, Rusty Hardin, said his team needs more time to review the evidence and have the scientific evidence analyzed by a forensics expert. 

Carlos Pena: Slugging First Baseman Signs With Cubs

Carlos Pena, one of the better power bats still on the market, signed a one-year, $10 million deal with the Chicago Cubs, according to a report on ESPN.com. 

Pena hit 28 home runs for the Tampa Bay Rays in 2010, but had an anemic .196 average and struck out 158 times in 484 at-bats.
