Bob Feller: Legendary MLB Pitcher Dies After Long Health Battle

Bob Feller, one of the greatest pitchers in major league history and a true icon in Cleveland sports, has passed away.

The 92-year-old was diagnosed with leukemia in August and underwent several additional health problems before moving to a hospice and passing away last night.

"Bob Feller is gone. We cannot be surprised," said Indians owner Larry Dolan. "Yet, it seems improbable. Bob has been such an integral part of our fabric, so much more than an ex-ballplayer, so much more than any Cleveland Indians player. He is Cleveland, Ohio.

Joey Votto: 2010 Canadian Male Athlete of the Year

Congratulations goes out to Joey Votto once again this year.

After being named the NL MVP this year, by compiling a .324 average with 37 home runs and 113 RBI, he has now been crowned the 2010 Canadian Male Athlete of the Year. The pile of accolades continue to increase for the 27-year-old native of Toronto, Ontario Canada and he truly deserves all the praise coming his way.

White Sox Sign Jesse Crain: Will He Be the Closer in Chicago?

According to MLB sources, the White Sox have agreed to a three-year deal with 29-year-old right-hander Jesse Crain.

Crain sported a 3.04 ERA and 1.18 WHIP, walking 27 and striking out 62 in 68 innings of setup duty for division rival Minnesota Twins last season.

In each of his last four seasons, Crain has increased the velocity of his fastball going from 93.9 miles per hour in 2007 to 94.1 in 2008, 94.3 in 2009 and a career-high of 94.8 in 2010.

Andy Pettitte Looks to Make a Decision on Career in Next Few Days

The New York Yankees struck out on Cliff Lee and now their attention turns to not losing one of their own. Andy Pettitte is currently exploring his options as to whether he will return or not. The southpaw put together one of his best seasons last year.

MLB Free Agents: The Latest on Carl Pavano, Adrian Beltre and Others

Things are seriously heating up in baseball's offseason recently, as a number of big signings have been made, including Cliff Lee to the Philadelphia Phillies.

It appears teams are starting to become more eager in assembling their rosters, and finding out whether they can re-sign some players or need to look on the market.

Carl Pavano and Adrian Beltre are some big names on the market, and there are plenty more that are starting to gain interest.

MLB Hot Stove: St. Louis Cardinals Sign Gerald Laird, Fill Out Roster

The Cardinals made what's likely their last addition of the offseason on Tuesday, adding backup catcher Gerald Laird to the fold with a one-year, $1 million deal. Laird will back up All-Star catcher Yadier Molina.

Laird represents an upgrade over former backup Jason LaRue, who retired during the 2010 season after experiencing post-concussion symptoms after receiving a kick to the head from Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto.

Joe Blanton: Odd Man Out Headed To Boston?

Joe Blanton might be the only member of the Philadelphia Phillies who wasn't ecstatic to hear that the team signed free agent ace Cliff Lee.

Lee's addition now gives the team two Cy Young winners, a former World Series MVP, and Roy Oswalt. Because he now seems expendable, some reports have Blanton being shipped to the Boston Red Sox.

Cliff Lee Phillies: Red Sox Continue To Profit From The Deal

Cliff Lee Phillies marriage has Boston Red Sox fans giddy this Tuesday morning.

Obviously, the Yankees losing out on a front line starter is a big deal: anytime the Yankees lose anything Red Sox fans have to be happy.

But because the club's biggest offseason acquisitions (outfielder Carl Crawford and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez) were both left handed bats, the Yankees missed out on having a great response to their AL East rival.

Cliff Lee Phillies: Bad News For The Rest of the NL

Cliff Lee Phillies news is sweeping the nation today and there will likely be many more dominoes to fall.

Although the rest of the NL has to be distraught over the move, teams like the Cubs, Rockies, and World Champion San Francisco Giants, the NL East will suffer the most.

And while the Marlins and Mets could be a factor next summer, it's the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals that are most impacted by the Lee deal.

MLB Rumors: Cliff Lee Agrees with Phillies, What's Next for Texas Rangers?

We've all heard the same story since the World Series concluded.

Would Cliff Lee choose the money and sign with the Yankees, or would he stay in Texas, where he and his family felt comfortable? Nobody seemed certain about which way he was leaning, not even Lee himself.

After it was announced that there was a mystery team in the running for Lee, speculation ran rampant that it was Philadelphia, and sure enough it was.
