This will be fairly quick.

One of the more bitter days this Milwaukee ball club has seen in a while just struck it's inevitable peak.

Brewers closer Trevor Hoffman has declined Milwaukee's arbitration offer, which now positions the Crew to get a compensatory pick in next year's MLB draft.

Hoffman earned more than $7 million during a disappointing 2010 season that saw the Brewers identify a number of younger, cheaper bullpen options that could indeed progress into future stars.

Victor Martinez Inks Deal With the Detroit Tigers: 2011 Fantasy Baseball Impact

The Detroit Tigers continued their aggressive offseason approach today by adding Victor Martinez to their roster for a reported $50 million over four years.

Martinez is obviously a huge upgrade for the Tigers over Gerald Laird and Alex Avila, although Avila will have a chance to approach 300 at-bats again in 2011 with Martinez sure to see some time at DH.  The real question is whether the move to Detroit upgrades Martinez’s fantasy value in 2011.

AL MVP: Josh Hamilton of Texas Rangers Beats Miguel Cabrera for the Award

Josh Hamilton's story has been told and retold numerous times over the last few years.

The Texas Rangers star outfielder has endured countless peaks and valleys in his well-chronicled rise and fall as a one-time uber-prospect turned casualty of drug abuse and addiction.

His subsequent recovery and return to baseball's highest level represents one of sports' greatest tales of redemption.

However, this time that's not what the story is about.
