Carlos Zambrano On Paid Restricted List Through The All-Star Break

Chicago Cubs general manager Jim Hendry announced on Monday that pitcher Carlos Zambrano was placed on MLB's restricted list, and will not rejoin the team until the All-Star break is over.

According to Hendry, the negotiations were very amicable, with both Zambrano's agent Barry Praver and Hendry working with the player's union to come to a resolution without rancor.

MLB Trade Rumors: David DeJesus To Boston Developments

Kansas City Royal outfielder David DeJesus has reportedly been on the block for some time now, and the injury-riddled outfield of the Boston Red Sox has been suggested as a possible destination.

Since the beginning of June, the San Francisco Giants and the Atlanta Braves have also been linked to trade discussions involving the 30-year-old DeJesus and his mere $4.7 million salary. However, Boston's need is quickly eclipsing that of an offensively soft San Francisco squad and an unpredictable Atlanta club.

Just a Tease: Charlie Haeger Designated For Assignment By L.A. Dodgers

It's finally over for right handed knuckleballer Charlie Haeger. The Dodgers designated Haeger for assignment on Friday, effectively ending Haeger's days as a Dodger.

The 26-year-old holds a 1-5 record as a Dodger while allowing 35 earned runs in just 30 innings pitched.

Haeger never really got on track in two abbreviated seasons for L.A., and spent several days on the DL in two separate stints with Planter Fasciitis in 2010. During both minor league rehabs, Haeger was impressive and earned a promotion back to the major league roster.

Breaking News: Bobby Valentine to be Next Florida Marlins Manager

SI.com's Jon Heyman is reporting that Bobby Valentine is going to be the next manager of the Florida Marlins.

A source close to the team has told Heyman that the Marlins have a tentative deal with the former Rangers and Mets skipper.

Breaking News: Chicago Cubs' Carlos Zambrano Suspended Indefinitely

The Chicago Cubs have suspended pitcher Carlos Zambrano indefinitely after a dugout tirade during Friday's 6-0 loss to the cross-town White Sox.

Zambrano had to be restrained and separated from teammate Derrek Lee after he gave up four runs in the bottom half of the first inning at US Cellular Field.

Presumably, the issue was that Lee let a ground ball get by him at first base prior to Zambrano giving up a three-run home run.

Suspended: Carlos Zambrano Makes a Fool Out Of Himself Once Again

Carlos Zambrano couldn't even make it to the second inning of his start against the crosstown rival White Sox before throwing yet another tantrum, even being sent home by manager Lou Pinella and eventually suspended indefinitely by Jim Hendry.

Zambrano gave up four runs in the first inning, but as usual found someone else to blame.

Detroit Tigers Pitcher Andy Oliver To Make Debut Tonight Against Atlanta Braves

Starting pitcher Andy Oliver will make his big league debut for the Tigers tonight against the Atlanta Braves.

Oliver, who Detroit took in the second round of the 2009 MLB Draft out of Oklahoma State, has been stellar with the Double-A Erie Seawolves. In his 14 starts, he has a 6-4 record with an ERA of 3.61 and 70 strikeouts.

Oliver has been moved up partially in response to starting pitcher Rick Porcello's sophomore slump. As a result, Porcello was recently sent down to Triple-A Toledo.

Chad Durbin Likely Headed to Disabled List for Phillies

Chad Durbin left the Phillies' 7-6 victory over the Cleveland Indians in the ninth inning due to an apparent hamstring injury.

MLB Trade Rumor: Cliff Lee Nearly Traded To Minnesota Twins, Injury Kills Deal

The Minnesota Twins are tired of running headlong into the buzzsaw that is the New York Yankees. This is the team that has beaten the Twins in the playoffs three separate times during the managerial reign of Ron Gardenhire.

In their new 2010 Target Field, the Twins want to win the whole thing this season. They have a potent offense, led by three-time batting champion and 2009 MVP Joe Mauer and former MVP Justin Morneau.

Aaron Laffey To Replace David Huff in Cleveland Indians Rotation

The Cleveland Indians announced on Tuesday that Aaron Laffey will become the fifth starter in the Indians rotation, replacing recently demoted David Huff.
