Roy Halladay Records 20th Perfect Game in MLB History

Newly acquired Philadelphia Phillies ace, Roy Halladay, joined an elite group with the 20th perfect game in MLB history today against the Florida Marlins.

The perfect showing was complimented with 11 strikeouts and a whole bunch of whiffs. Halladay improves to 7-3 on the season while the Phillies will move two games above the Braves to lead the division.

Strangely, this is the second perfect game this season; Dallas Braden was perfect against the Tampa Bay Rays on May, 9th.

Thursday marked the end of the Los Angeles Dodgers' experiments with a pair of Ortiz veterans, and possibly the end of Ramon Ortiz's major league career.

The Dodgers surprised experts and fans alike at the beginning of spring training with the news they had invited Russ and Ramon Ortiz (no relation) to camp with a decent shot at making the roster. True to their word, both veterans found their way to the big league club after decent spring campaigns.

Boy, oh, boy! Did Brian Sabean respond!

Giants fans who've grown weary of beat writers and columnists asking the same questions and accepting the same answers about everything from why the club hasn't called Buster Posey up from the minor leagues to Tim Lincecum's struggles should listen to the entire broadcast.

Yes, all of it.

MLB Fines Ozzie Guillen, Joe West, and Mark Buehrle

It has been reported that Major League Baseball has fined Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen, pitcher Mark Buehrle, and umpire Joe West an undisclosed amount for the actions during Wednesday's game against Cleveland, leading to the ejections of Guillen and later Buehrle after they disputed two balk calls.

After the game, Guillen went on a tirade against West, done in classic Ozzie Guillen fashion. Major League Baseball said it would begin investigating Thursday night, and quickly came to a decision Friday afternoon.

For $17,000, It Can Only Be a Stephen Strasburg

When was the last time that a baseball card created any headlines in the last 20 years?

More than likely you remember Wayne Gretzky purchasing the Honus Wagner card in 1991 for a staggering $451,000. Upon further investigation, that same card was sold again in 2007, for a reported $2,350,000.

To be honest, I remember in seventh and eighth grade, being driven to flea markets by my mom, trying to get that ever-elusive Ken Griffey Jr. No. 1 Upper Deck rookie card.

How fun was that?

Remember the Beckett price guides!?
