The Cubs pulled off two miraculous comebacks in the first two games against the Diamondbacks.

That wasn't the case in Wednesday's matchup.

As amazing as the comebacks for the Cubbies were, they were still fighting from behind. In all three games of this series, and pretty much this season so far, the Cubs will dig themselves a hole they have to climb out of.

Many people are hating against the Chicago Cubs. Only three analysts out of 40 picked the Cubs to win the central division. Only three! 

The Cubs get no love.

Yes, I understand they are a pretty good bet to lose. I understand they have gone over 100 years without a MLB Championship. That doesn't mean they aren't talented. 

The Cubs deserve more love. 

Starting Pitching

Don't deny it, the Cubs can pitch. Pitching has never been their fault. 

Last season, the Cubs struggled all year in one-run ball games.

Today, the Cubs' fortune seemed to be on their side as they sneaked past the Arizona Diamondbacks, 6-5.

Tyler Colvin's two-run home run and three RBI helped the Cubs get their third win on the season.

The Cubs struck first in the second inning when Darwin Barney scored on a Miguel Montero throwing error and Starlin Castro followed with an RBI double to score Koyie Hill.

What's up with the Cubs?

They're actually on a hot streak and they now are in a position to realistically sweep the Diamondbacks at Wrigley.

Again, it looked as though the Cubbies were going to fumble the game away late, they were able to contain themselves and bag their second straight win.

Last week I wrote about my hope for the 2011 Cubs. For the first time in a long time, I look at the Cubs organization and see reasons to be optimistic about their short and long-term future.

Chicago Cubs’ shortstop Starlin Castro is 8-for-13 (.615) with four runs and one RBI through three games this season, and already has the fantasy baseball community buzzing over his potential.

Castro’s 2011 spring totals turned some heads last month, as he displayed surprising power: 66 at-bats, 14 runs, nine XBH (four HRs), 15 RBI, two steals, .348/.386/.621.

As a Chicago Cubs fan, there isn't much to be hopeful for after watching the North Siders drop their season opener, their home opener, and their opening series of the season all to the lowly Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Cubs were looking hot, and it looked like they were going to actually pull out a victory and take two of three from the Pirates to start the 2011 season. 

Then they hit the top of the ninth.

Cubs Nation, breathe easy. Mike Quade sure is.

Opening Day is finally here.

Aside from the beautiful smell of fresh hot dogs and sausages simmering on an open fire, it is the mark of another calendar year where the Chicago Cubs have another shot at ending their 102 years of championship futility.

Every team is hopeful that this year is their year.

But for Chicago Cubs players and fans, this slogan has been said so much, that it has lost all of its meaning.
