Rockies-Brewers: Coors Field Drama Continues in Colorado Victory

The Coors Field Rockies showed up for their brief home stand on Friday night.

Down 4-2 in the eighth inning, Troy Tulowitzki crushed a line drive to left field that hit off the glove of Ryan Braun and into the first row of seats, giving the Rockies a 5-4 lead that Huston Street made stand in the ninth.

What makes the Rockies a completely different team at home than on the road is a mystery.

Colorado Rockies Need a Fork Stuck in Them...They May Be Done

The Rockies may as well kiss their playoff hopes goodbye.

On Thursday afternoon the Mets, behind a 10-strikeout, complete-game performance by Johan Santana, shut out the Rockies for the second time in three days, 4-0.

In all fairness to Santana, who is an elite pitcher in the league, the Rockies may lose to the North Jeffco Little Leaguers the way they are playing on the road.

Colorado Rockies Road Woes Continue

It seemed as if Drew Goodman was intentionally taunting Rockies fans all night long.

The FSN play-by-play announcer seemingly came up with a new stat that showed how horrible Mets starter Mike Pelfrey has been since June.

On Tuesday night in New York, Ubaldo Jimenez had his best stuff. The only problem is that if he wanted to pick up his franchise-record 18th win, he was going to need to be perfect.

Carlos Gonzalez Is Having The Best Season No One is Talking About

In the mile-high city, there is an outfielder having the best baseball season you haven't heard about.

His name is Carlos Gonzalez, and he has been a menace to National League pitching this season.

Carlos Gonzalez, 24, is a tall, lean lefty with a sweet swing.

Originally from Venezuela, Gonzalez is in his second full year with the Colorado Rockies.  He came to the Rockies in the Winter of 2008 when the Rockies dealt Matt Holliday to the Oakland A's.

Is It Time to Bury The Colorado Rockies Season?

So are the Rockies done yet? 2-2 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, including a heart breaking home run walk off on Saturday night seemed to be the gut punch rip your heart out end of the season.

However, the Rox bounced back on Sunday with a win and split the road series at 2-2.

Colorado Rockies Bats Come Alive, Salvage Split in Pittsburgh Pirates

The Colorado Rockies went into Pittsburgh desperate to prove that they could win away from Coors Field. The last time out on the road the club dropped nine out of 11 games.

After three games against the Pirates, the Rockies were on the brink of losing three of four to the worst team in the National League. Luckily for the Rockies, the bats arrived at the ballpark and the Rockies salvaged a series split, winning 8-4.

Huston Street And the Rockies Suffer a Crushing Blow

When Ian Stewart hit the game-tying three run homer in the top of the 9th inning, things felt good. When Todd Helton, with all of his power zapped by a bad back, drilled a two-run home run in the top of the 10th, all of the pressure lifted. The Rockies were going to win the game that they should win, and put themselves right back in the playoff mix.

Precious CarGo: Is Rockies' Carlos Gonzalez's Amazing Season for Real?

Carlos Gonzalez is making Rockies' fans forget all about Matt Holliday.

Ever since breaking out in last year's playoffs, Gonzalez has been on an absolute tear.

The young outfielder is in the top ten in all National League offensive categories, and is second in Power-Speed, a statistic invented by Bill James that measures the harmonic mean between a player's home runs and stolen bases.

And at the ripe age of 24, he's one of baseball's budding young stars.

But forgive me if I'm skeptical of his amazing stats.

Ubaldo Jimenez Gets 17th, Colorado Rockies' Road Trip Is a Make or Break

As much as it could be on Aug. 4, Wednesday afternoon's game against the Giants was a must-win for the Rockies.

The good news for the Rockies was that they had their ace Ubaldo Jimenez on the mound. Jimenez pitched seven innings of one-run baseball in route to his 17th win as the Rockies rolled over the Giants 6-1 at Coors Field.

The win ties Jimenez with Jeff Francis, Kevin Ritz, and Pedro Astacio for most wins in a season for Colorado.
