Toronto Blue Jays Call Up J.P. Arencibia To Replace John Buck

With catcher John Buck on the 15-day DL, it was the perfect opportunity for the Blue Jays to call up their stud in waiting, J.P. Arencibia . Let's take a quick look at why Blue Jays fans and fantasy owners are getting excited...

Fantasy Baseball News and Notes, August 3: Youkilis, Ellsbury, and More

There was a flurry of noteworthy stories yesterday, so let’s take a look at what fantasy owners need to know:

Fantasy Baseball Underachievers: Time to Cut Ties with Pablo Sandoval?

Still holding on to Chone Figgins or Aaron Hill? Fantasy baseball owners may want to consider cutting ties with these big name underachieving players. You will be shocked at these comparisons.

Check out these numbers and ask yourself whether you would like to add this player if he was available on the waiver wire in your league: .264/.325/.382 with 45 R, 42 RBI, and two SB.

MLB Fantasy: Halladay, Hudson, Cahill:Two-Start Pitchers for Week 18

As we have now passed the Major League non-waiver trade deadline, watch certain teams closely. Teams who have decided that they are out of the running are likely to do things that will benefit their team for the future, rather than what might be of benefit right now.

Report: Philadelphia Phillies' Slugger Ryan Howard Sprains Right Ankle

Things just couldn't get worse for the Philadelphia Phillies.

First, after landing the best player on the trade deadline market in Roy Oswalt, he struggled in his debut against a terrible team in the Washington Nationals. It was not a good sight to see, as Washington marched to an 8-1 victory.

Fantasy Baseball by the Numbers: Week 17

It's been a busy week, so I’m forfeiting the intro. I put all of it into my Dan Haren diatribe. Enjoy.

1– Overall Yahoo! pitcher ranking for St. Louis hurler Adam Wainwright . The man is referred to in some circles as “XXX: Return of Zander Cage ,” because his curveball is so extreme it could win the X-Games and fight terrorism at the same time.

Jhonny Peralta to Detroit Tigers: Its Impact on Fantasy Baseball

The Detroit Tigers have acquired Jhonny Peralta (and cash) from the Cleveland Indians for minor league pitcher Giovanni Soto, according to the team’s official Twitter feed.

They have been beaten up with injuries recently, especially on the infield, with both Brandon Inge and Carlos Guillen being placed on the DL.

Just because you’ve slipped behind in the stolen base category, it doesn’t mean you can’t catch up.  Here are some reasonably available SB threats.
