Fantasy Baseball: Friday News and Notes

Wait. I think someone else got thrown out of the Red Sox-Twins game.
While there was some decent viewership last night for the Cleveland-Orlando game, the result was almost predictable. It's one of the things about basketball that can drive people nuts.
Sure, Cleveland tried to choke away a 22-point lead, but there was no way that this thing wasn't being pushed to a Game 6.
Not when there is advertising revenue to be had. Not when those stupid puppets keep showing up in the Nike commercials.
You don't get this in baseball.

The Ultimate Mets Fantasy League.

Have you ever wondered how the 1999 team would have faired if Tom Seaver pitched for them? How about Gil Hodges managing David Wright and John Olerud? All of your Met fantasies can finally come to life…simulated life that is.

Fantasy Baseball Tonight 5/25: Happy Memorial Day!

While many of us take this day as an extra day off of work, and a reason for a BBQand a great reason for a get together with friends and/or family, let’s not forget what today is really about.

Memorial Day is a day to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.  The men and women who have given their life in the name of freedom and patriotism.

Fantasy Baseball Killed My Pet Turtle

Coach Chris Murphy sent out an open invitation for hitters who felt they were doing well to meet in his office on Sunday.  We at Bleacher Report put a balding midget in a Red Sox uniform to pose as Dustin Pedroia to get the inside scoop.

Fantasy Baseball's Two-Star Options: Week 8

It’s time to look at the potential two-start options for the upcoming fantasy week.  If I have someone rated as a three, four or five-star option, they are someone I would definitely use.

A two-star option is someone who is borderline, but I’d strongly lean against it unless I have no other options.  The one-star options are an absolutely not scenario.

So, with that said, let’s take a look at the players available to you this week:

5-Star Options:

Down To The Wire: Go Get Blake

It's almost the end of May and there are plenty of free agents available to grab in your fantasy leagues. These players have been hot and cold, but right now are hot and deserve to be added immediately.

Here is a list of some hot free agent pick ups:

Fantasy Impact: Scott Kazmir's Fall from Prominance

May 3, 2007: The (then) Devil Rays sat two games under .500 at 13-15, fans were cautiously optimistic, but the team was on its way to another dismal finish, a full 30 games out of first place.

Just one year later, the Rays were two games over .500, 16-14, and champing at the bit to get their Ace back. They had improved over there previous season by four games and done so without strikeout artist Scott Kazmir.

Fantasy Baseball: Tuesday News and Notes

Even when they happen to simply marginal players, injuries can ruin a night for the fantasy baseball owner. DL-stints are becoming all the more common, and being able to back fill those positions now isn't as much a result of solid drafting as it is good waiver work.
With more stars heading to the sidelines last night, knowing who to grab as replacements will only serve to help owners move on without getting all misty over their loss.
What's better is that we get some good news from the injury realm as well.

A Tough Start: The Dan Haren Story

The Counselor is IN: Michael Kaplan

It is probably getting tougher and tougher for Dan Haren to go back to the stadium for each start. Haren has gotten a total of three runs in his first four starts from that Diamondback offense.

5 Players You Do Not Want On Your Fantasy Team

Well today I am going to look at five individual players that you should consider dropping or trading as of now. There are obviously more than five struggling players, but these are five individual choices of mine. There will be a slideshow like this every other week which will run down the five worst players of the week, but here are five players you do not want on your fantasy team as of today.

There will also be a Top 5 regarding the Best Players coming out on Monday.
