Yankees-Tigers Game Two: Yankees Rebound With Shutout to Earn Split

After being held scoreless earlier in the day, New York responded with their own shutout in an 8-0 triumph over Detroit Wednesday evening at Comerica Park. The teams split the day-night doubleheader with the Tigers winning the afternoon affair, 2-0.

With the win, New York ended a season-high three-game losing streak. Detroit’s two runs in the bottom of the sixth in the first game were the only two Tiger runs scored in the doubleheader.

Daisuke Matsuzaka Outstanding In Red Sox 6-1 Triumph Over Blue Jays

Has Daisuke Matsuzaka finally turned the page?

Let’s be honest, when the Red Sox posted a $50+ million ransom in order to secure the rights just to negotiate with this guy, and then signed him to a six-year, $52 million contract, this was the type of outing we thought would be the rule, not the exception. We were told he had six or seven pitches he would throw for strikes, and that his control was impeccable. Yet, we have seldom seen that pitcher in a Red Sox uniform.

Is Major League Baseball Dead?

Is Major League Baseball Dead?

It's the beginning of the season, a beautiful Mother's Day in Oakland. Perfect weather and a Sunday. I only know all this because Dallas Braden just threw Major League Baseball's 19th perfect game.

This was the first time mainstream America got a glimpse of baseball since the World Series last season When George Steinbrenner's Yankees just purchased their 27th world Championship. Yawn!!

New York Mets Waste John Maine's Quality Start: DFA Frank Catalanotto

Kennedy, Zimmerman Power Washington Nationals to 3-2 Win Over New York Mets

After his previous start that yielded six runs and five walks to the Atlanta Braves in 5.1 innings, many thought that Washington Nationals rookie starter Luis Atilano may be starting to unravel.

He shut those detractors up last night, however, as he threw 5.1 shutout innings helping the Nats topple the New York Mets to improve to second place in the National League East.

Deception was the key to Atilano's success Monday night, as young right-hander improved to 3-0 by earning the win on his 25th birthday.

Joey Votto Powers Cincinnati Reds To Series Win Over The Chicago Cubs

Joey Votto is beginning to show that he is a complete baseball player. The man has tools.

In yesterday's come-from- behind win over the Chicago Cubs, Votto sent a 439' rocket into the right field seats. It was a two out, three-run shot that gave Mike Leake his third win of the season.

The win gave the Reds the series at two games to one. It was a successful home stand as they had just finished winning a set against the New York Mets 2-1 as well.

Boston Red Sox Bats Come Alive in Series Finale

After being outscored 24-6 in the first two games against New York, the Boston offense took out their frustrations on A.J. Burnett in a 9-3 win Sunday night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox scored at least nine runs for the third time in seven games. The loss ended the Yankees five-game winning streak.

Mother's Day Recap: Washington Nationals Sneak Past Marlins

On a day to thank mom for everything she has done, the Washington Nationals attempted to give all the mothers of National Nation a present. Looking for the Nats' sixth series win of the season, Livan Hernandez took to the hill at Nationals Park against the ever troublesome Florida Marlins.
