Chicago Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta got a taste of defeat Sunday for the first time in more than 10 months.

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard felt the wrath of his home crowd at Citizens Bank Park during Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers when a fan threw a bottle at him.  

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Carl Crawford was designated for assignment Sunday amid a woeful start to the 2016 campaign. 

The Dodgers announced Crawford's demotion and added that they recalled catcher/infielder Austin Barnes from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill the 34-year-old veteran's place on the MLB roster.

This week's roster is full of star power, as members of this group have a combined 30 All-Star Game appearances between them.

We will likely remember the 2016 MLB draft more for its depth than its top-end talent. Plenty of promising prospects in the draft are capable of bolstering a farm system, but there are no can't-miss future stars in the mold of Bryce Harper or Kris Bryant.

The San Francisco Giants have internally discussed acquiring New York Yankees reliever Andrew Miller.

Giants May Need To Deal Top Prospect

In order to trade for Miller, the Giants could have to part with top pitching prospect Tyler Beede, according to Rosenthal.

Shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. was one of two minor league players the San Diego Padres acquired in the Saturday trade involving starting pitcher James Shields, according to Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune.

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg exited Saturday's game against the Cincinnati Reds after suffering an apparent calf injury, per Joe Kay of the Associated Press.
