Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes is set to stand trial April 4 on domestic abuse charges stemming from an October 2015 incident involving his wife in Maui, Hawaii.

Reyes has pleaded not guilty.

Throughout the offseason, we've named a handful of winners and losers at various times based on the latest happenings both in free agency and on the trade market.

Obviously we won't know exactly how moves made this offseason will work out until the season gets underway, or in some cases, not until several years down the road, so think of these opinions as a gut reaction of sorts.

St. Petersburg Council Approves Stadium Proposal

By a vote of 5-3, the St. Petersburg City Council agreed to allow the Rays to look for a new stadium outside of the city, according to the Tampa Tribune.       

Ryne Sandberg is reportedly returning to the Chicago Cubs in 2016 to serve as a special ambassador, according to Bruce Levine of 670 The Score.   

The 56-year-old Sandberg played 15 seasons for the Cubs from 1982-97 and was voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. 

The Pittsburgh Pirates have renewed their relationship with Chris Stewart, reportedly re-signing the free-agent catcher to a new deal. 

Shortstop Alexei Ramirez will don a new uniform in 2016 for the first time in his eight-year MLB career after signing with the San Diego Padres in free agency Thursday. 

The Cincinnati Reds are in full rebuilding mode and are selling off any veteran piece they can. Outfielder Jay Bruce may be the next to go.
