The final weeks of the 2015 MLB season are upon us, and with a number of playoff spots still far from decided, it's shaping up to be an exciting finish once again.

For now, let's take an updated look at how all 30 clubs currently stack up.

At this stage of the MLB season, several squads are exploring the depths of their expanded rosters. While fantasy gamers compete for a championship, some real teams are playing out the year with players auditioning for 2016 gigs.

The scramble for the National League Central is easily the most intriguing division race in baseball. And, with a tip of the cap to Spinal Tap, the intrigue is about to get cranked up to "11." 

Entering play Monday, the St. Louis Cardinals (89-54) sit in first place, the Pittsburgh Pirates (86-56) are 2.5 games out in second place and the Chicago Cubs (82-60) are 6.5 games off the pace in third.

If Zack Greinke hasn't cleared space in his trophy case yet, he'd better get busy. Because, while the race for the National League Cy Young Award isn't over, the Los Angeles Dodgers' right-hander looks more like the prohibitive front-runner with each superlative start.

Heading into the final weeks of the MLB season, about half of the division races are all but wrapped up. The Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays and St. Louis Cardinals are the three division leaders with a sub-five-game lead.

Gomez Scratched Due to Discomfort

According to the Astros' official Twitter account, Gomez is dealing with "intercostal discomfort" and is listed as day to day.

Corey Seager may be the Los Angeles Dodgers' top prospect, but he's still just a rookie.

That means his teammates are going to mess with him when they get the opportunity. Saturday night was the perfect example.

Fans and teams alike look to their biggest stars to come through in the clutch, especially down the stretch when every game takes on extra importance and one win—or loss—can be the reason a team is playing meaningful October baseball or watching the playoffs from its couch.

That some key players on contending clubs have found their way onto our Week 23 All-Dud Team isn't good news for those clubs, which will be hard-pressed to reach the promised land without a better showing from those stars.

There's nothing quite like September baseball, when it involves teams contending for a spot to play in the MLB postseason.

Some teams are slowly separating themselves from the pack, while others look to find themselves in a dogfight from here on out.
