Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer tied a franchise record Wednesday against the Minnesota Twins by recording his ninth double-digit strikeout game of the season, per Sportsnet Stats.

Normally, a young fan catching a foul ball isn't too big of a deal, but this kid jumped up and down like he opened an N64 on Christmas morning.

According to ESPN.com, the MLB playoffs start on October 6. That means two things.

One, playoff baseball is almost here! It's less than 40 days until the ever-tense Wild Card Round begins. Eek! I'm giddy!

Players to Draft

There figures to be more than a few waiver trades in MLB before the August 31 cutoff date next week. Over the next few slides, we'll take a look at some underrated players who could be steals for prospective teams.

Now, obviously the following players have their flaws—they wouldn't be available for trade if they didn't. But each selection has specific traits that will still interest contenders trying to qualify for the postseason. 

Dave Dombrowski won big in his fifth year in Florida, and in his fifth year in Detroit. He's in Boston now because the Red Sox expect him to win big there, too, but there's no way they expect him to take five years to do it.

The big question when September call-ups roll around is whether or not a team will promote its top prospects, but those are not always the guys who wind up making the biggest impact.

Case in point: Terrance Gore.

When rosters expanded last season, the Kansas City Royals included Gore among their call-ups, despite the fact that he was hitting just .221/.289/.257 on the year and was nowhere to be found among their top 25 prospects when the season began.

So why was he bumped up to the big leagues?
