Yankees Call on A.J. Burnett for Help

After getting trounced last night by the Rays 15-5, the Yankees face the Rays tonight in the second of the three-game set at 7:08 p.m.

The Yankees look to prove themselves to the AL East and to the majors, and to show that last night's loss was a fluke.

25 Ways to Know if You're a New York Yankees Fan

Continuing in my series of "25 Ways To Know If You're a ______ Fan," this article is on the most storied franchise in baseball—the New York Yankees. Read the list, leave a comment on your thoughts, and enjoy.

So, New York, here is your list!

Tampa Bay Rays Shut Out By Yankees Phenom Reliever

By the way, that phenom reliever is Nick Swisher.

I hate the Yankees.  Therefore, every chance I get to mock them, I go for it.

It is a sad day when your first baseman pitches better in relief than the actual guys labeled as pitchers on your 25-man roster.

Chien-Ming Wang now has a 28.93 ERA.  It's a good thing the Yankees stocked up on starting pitching this offseason.

Carlos Pena, Jason Bartlett, and Pat Burrell all went deep off Yankee pitching last night, helping the Rays demoralize the Yankees 15-5.

Yankees-Rays: Yanks Try to Even Series

The New York Yankees play the second game of a three game set with Tampa Bay tonight at 7 p.m. on MY9 in New York. A.J. Burnett will make his second start and look to go deeper into the game especially with the Yankees bullpen in flux. Matt Garza makes the start for the Rays. Here are the lineups via Peter Abraham

Nick Swisher Puts On A Show: Tightwad "Purists" Fume

My love for Mr. Swisher runs unconditional. At least until the next slump.

Red-hot hitting, and an inning of relief to boot. Plus, he's an entertaining chap.

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways:

One.

Two.

Three.

The MLB Network Has Some Kinks to Iron Out

The emergence of the MLB Network over the past few months has been outstanding.  Truth be told, any network that provides a reasonable alternative to John Kruk bumbling and stumbling is probably going to get a fair chance, even if said network contains a healthy dosage of Harold Reynolds.

The American Idle Returns: Carl Pavano to Face New York Yankees

The Yankees will open up their home schedule with a four game series against the Cleveland Indians. The Sunday game will be the biggest game, not the home opener, not friday or Saturday, the series finale, why you ask?

Carl "American Idle" Pavano will be facing the Yankees.

Rays-Yankees: Yankees Taking a Beating, Trail 12-2 in the 6th

Man, the run for the AL East is going to be great to watch!

Well, actually, today, not for me.

The Yankees are quite honestly getting their butts kicked down in the Trop.

Wang was taken out very early (in the second) and gave up eight, count them eight, runs.

He looked more like Sidney Ponson than Chien-Ming Wang out there tonight!

But on a good note, Nick Swisher did continue his hot-hitting ways, blasting his third homer since opening night.  He is in the running for the AL Player of the Week.

In Other News...My Short Tenure As MLB Commish

So, what would you do if you were baseball commissioner for a year? Well, I sure know. Actually, there are three major things that as the commissioner I would attempt to do. Actually, these would happen, I would make sure of it.

Sorry to say it, Bud, but you're fired!

On each of these slides is one thing that I will do.

Hey, if you like the ideas, vote for me as baseball commish!

If not, then comment! Tell me all of your fury and rage against my ideas.

So, without further ado, I present Shanan H.'s tenure as baseball's brans, spankin new commissioner!

Game 7: Yankees at Rays (RIP Harry Kalas)

Here are your lineups for today's opening game of a three-game series with the defending AL champs, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the New York Yankees.
