Starlin Castro Can Run, but Can He Walk?

Starlin Castro , arguably the Cubs' top prospect, is flashing the potential to hit at the big-league level early in the season. The Tennessee Smokie shortstop is currently hitting .342, with a .500 slugging percentage helped by his two triples in eight games.

St. Louis Cardinals 20-Inning Loss Proves Greatness, Exposes Greatest Weakness

The 20-inning pitchers duel that the St. Louis Cardinals and New York Mets endured on Saturday was one of the craziest games I have ever seen in my life. And that is no exaggeration.

While I was disappointed, and even mad about the loss directly afterwards—as a fan, I had to appreciate what I had just witnessed.

Thoughts were flying through my mind at a million miles per second. Some entering and exiting my head before I could even try to rationalize them.

The Hugs Are Over: The Reds' Dusty Baker Needs To Be Fired

I've said it time and time again.  And this is the final straw.  Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker needs to be fired.  Either Sunday night or Monday morning.

If, for nothing less, the disposition of this club that can and should compete.

I don't hate the man.  In fact, Dusty seems like a stand-up dude.

But he is an absolutely horrible handler of young talent—where the Reds are stacked.

Wrigley Field Opens for 2010 Season with Numerous Changes

Over the years, Cubs fans have clamored to keep Wrigley Field the way it is.  It took a monumental leap to have night games, events other than sporting events and making any cosmetic changes to Wrigley Field .

The Ricketts family bought the Cubs in January of 2009.  Part of their commitment in the offseason was $10 million in renovations to Wrigley Field. New Chairman Tom Ricketts said the changes are meant to improve the overall experience for everyone who comes through the gates.

Andrew McCutchen Leads Speedy Bucs: Pittsburgh Pirates News And Notes

Thanks to a walk-off single last night by Lastings Milledge that scored Andrew McCutchen, the Pirates have gotten off to a .500 start this season. Due to their losing ways, the Pirates don’t get much love here at The Ghost of Moonlight Graham .

But today is for the Pirates. Let’s see what is going on with the team from the Steel City.

Whatcha Gonna Do When the Pirates Run Wild on You?

Aramis Ramirez an Unlikely Trade Chip for Chicago Cubs

It's only mid-April, but there are plenty of people already discussing who on the Cubs roster should get traded.

The discussions always center around what those players are doing on the field—obviously an important part in discussing potential trades, but are usually short on providing full context.

Trades are much more complex than, "Well, I have this guy that I want to get rid of and you have this other guy that I want. Any chance you want to make a swap?"

Cubs-Astros Preview: April 16-19

The Cubs (4-5) missed out on a sweep against the Brewers Thursday, but another sweep-worthy team, the Houston Astros, comes to town starting today at 1:20 p.m.

The offensively challenged Astros (1-8) got their first win of the season against St. Louis yesterday, but the Cubs should have no problem getting back on the winning track with a three-game weekend series against the ‘Stros.

Houston Astros Finally Win

It’s official: There will not be a winless team in Major League Baseball this year.

The Houston Astros finally won a game yesterday, as they defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 5-1 in St. Louis.

I, for one, am happy the Astros won because I will have something good to talk about when I am on Houston radio Saturday night.

That’s called a cheap plug, kids.
