2010 MLB Projections: How Good Is New York Mets' Pitcher Mike Pelfrey?

Mike Pelfrey dazzled the Cubs Tuesday night, allowing no runs on three hits and three walks in seven innings. He also struck out six en route to his third win in as many starts. The 26-year-old now has a 0.86 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a 16:8 K:BB ratio through 21 innings.

The question all fantasy managers are asking now is: How good is Mike Pelfrey ?

New York Mets: Lack Of Direction Can Be Paralyzing

The main problem plaguing the New York Mets right now is not Omar Minaya, Jerry Manuel, or the pitching staff; it’s the complete lack of certainty.

Will Jerry Manuel still be around in two weeks? Your guess is as good as mine.

What will the Mets’ pitching staff look like next week? Who knows.

How long will Ike Davis be on the big league roster? A week? Two weeks?

Philadelphia Phillies-Atlanta Braves: Phils Face Early Test for NL East Race

The latest news out of Phillies camp was not promising: Starter J.A. Happ will miss tonight's start against the Atlanta Braves due to stiffness in his elbow.

Instead, Kyle Kendrick (0-0, 17.47), pictured, will face Tommy Hanson (1-1, 2.38).

Other matchups feature Tim Hudson (1-0, 2.84) vs. Roy Halladay (3-0, 1.12) and Jamie Moyer (1-1, 7.50) against Derek Lowe (3.0, 4.67).

In the face of losing two of three games at home to the Marlins, facing the Braves' quality starters looks like a mismatch.

He's Here: Ike Davis Gets the Long-Awaited Call to New York Mets

It's the call most Mets fans wanted in spring training.

Ike Davis became a fan favorite with his impressive spring, but the Mets organization wanted to see him play more in Triple-A.

They chose to give the first base job to a combination of Fernando Tatis and Mike Jacobs while waiting for Daniel Murphy to return from injury.

Well, that didn't work out so well.

New York Mets-Chicago Cubs: Series with Cubs May be Just What the Mets Need

Living in the Midwest has its advantages. It is an area that is heavily populated by Cubs fans.

The Cubs are currently the one franchise that is more synonymous with losing in heartbreaking fashion than the New York Mets.

If you live in the Big Apple, I’m sure you have little to say when an arrogant, obnoxious Yankee fan starts giving you a hard time about pulling for the Mets.

Prospect Report: Does Mets' Ike Davis Have Fantasy Value in 2010?

New York Mets’ prospect Ike Davis made his major league debut against the Cubs Monday night.

The 23-year-old left-handed first baseman recorded a hit in his first at-bat, a bloop single to right. In the seventh inning, Davis drove in Jason Bay on a hard-hit grounder up the middle off southpaw Sean Marshall. Davis finished the night 2-for-4 with an RBI.

New York Mets Top Chicago Cubs 6-1 in Ike Davis's Debut

After a rough road trip, the Mets came back to Citi Field and took care of business as they rolled over the Cubs 6-1.

Jon Neise pitched decently. Though he gave up eight hits and walked three, he managed to strike out seven and make it through 5 2/3 innings.

Fernando Nieve , who relieved Neise in the sixth, ended with the win, as the Mets would all but seal the deal in the seventh inning with a five run rally. Angel Pagan's two-run homer was the spark that got the team rolling.

What To Expect From Ike Davis: First Week of the Season

Ike Davis, the name alone brings shivers down Met Fans spines. Today he will be making his first start of the season and hit sixth behind the hot Jeff Francoeur.

Ike Davis Called Up

The New York Mets finally called up first base prospect Ike Davis to the major league team today. Manager Jerry Manuel has already penciled him into the sixth slot of the starting lineup.

While the season may only be a little over two weeks old, some believe that this move was already overdue.

Davis batted .480 with three home runs and 10 runs batted in in 25 at bats during spring training.
