As the World Series continues, an east coast team prepares and hopes for future Fall Classics at their stadium: The Boston Red Sox are completing the final stage of renovations to Fenway Park.

New for 2011 will be the right field grandstand seats, an expanded concessions area, a renovated open will call and Gate D concourse. The highlight is the addition of three brand new HD video boards behind center field. Two of boards will be 100 feet wide.

It's been a little over two weeks since the Pittsburgh Pirates last interviewed a candidate for the open managerial position.  They've yet to name a manager and many believe that the Pirates were waiting for the New York Yankees to get eliminated from the playoffs.

Could they be waiting for another guy and another team to get eliminated from the playoffs?  Maybe Texas Rangers hitting coach Clint Hurdle?

It makes sense.

The members of the "Core Four" have been the faces of the New York Yankees for many years. As the 2010 season comes to a close, one must realize that the Core Four cannot go on forever.

Andy Pettitte turns 39.

Derek Jeter turns 37.

Jorge Posada turns 40.

The Great Mariano Rivera turns 41 this November.

The great question is: How many more years will the Core Four continue to play?

Here is my observation of the Core Four, future Yankee legends.

With Sandy Alderson set to take over as the new General Manager of the New York Mets, its time to get business rolling. Next on the list is to find an appropriate manager to handle the on-field business and after that its time to figure out how the roster will fill out. 

With some money to work with, Alderson has the experience and expertise to know how and where to spend it. Obviously he will never see this article, but here are some suggestions on realistic options the Mets have this off season in regards to free agency. 

Last night's game was not the total shock many people think. I figured the San Francisco Giants would score a couple runs early against Lee, but was surprised the way they knocked him around.

The Giants pitchers also neutralized Mickey Mantle Jr, I mean, Josh Hamilton.

The Giants game plan with those two players were the key to winning Game 1. 

1) Cliff Lee vs. Giants Hitters

The Texas Rangers were embarrassed by the San Francisco Giants in Game One of the 2010 World Series, losing 11-7.

The "unbeatable" Cliff Lee gave up six runs in a game where the Rangers lost by four.

Freddy Sanchez was the man of the night for San Fran, hitting four doubles and driving in three.

Expect a healthy dose of torture tonight. 

After last night’s offensive firestorm, where the San Francisco Giants ran up a week’s worth of runs in one game, tonight should be a nice reversion to the tense, nail-biting and familiar mean. 

Cue “The Machine” and bring on the thumbscrews. 

In the words of Howie Rose, "Put it in the books" when it comes to Sandy Alderson as the new GM for the Amazin's.

GM: check.

Now the focus will turn to who will take the helm as the team's next manager. Before I give some suggestions, I'd like to set one thing straight.
