Ryan Kalish And Carlos Santana Play The Game The Way It SHOULD Be Played

When I did the write-up after my interview with new Red Sox OF Ryan Kalish last year, I predicted that he would be a BIG hit with Red Sox Nation when he finally arrived in Boston (though I’ll admit that I thought he’d get here in 2011, not 2010).

Ryan Howard on the DL: What the Doctor Ordered...for Ruben Amaro?

Sometimes during the course of a general manager's career, there are seasons where he does everything right and still can't win.  He might spend his money wisely, develop good talent, and make all the right, smart, and crafty trades to get talented players for little in return.  Yet somehow his team hits a streak of bad luck and misses the playoffs.

When an injury bug bites a team, there is nothing the GM can do but cry into his hat about what could have been.

Mark Teahen's Return to Chicago White Sox Means Awful Decision Coming

Mark Teahen is set to come back in about a week from his minor league stint in Triple-A Charlotte after recovering from a fractured middle finger in May—not that anyone in the organization has noticed his absence with the White Sox on a tear without him.

A question, which I'm certain manager Ozzie Guillen and GM Kenny Williams will answer incorrectly, looms.

Who do the White Sox send down for Mark Teahen?

Chicago White Sox: The Good, Bad and Ugly of the Remaining Schedule

As the White Sox continue to play well and make their push to the playoffs, we as fans remember that sometimes it's the team with the most favorable schedule that ends up making it to the postseason.

Taking a look at the White Sox schedule, it's a combination of 19 games against playoff contenders, 20 games against playoff wannabes, and 19 games against teams who already want the season to be over.

The South Siders will be at home 28 more times over the course of the regular season, and on the road for 30 more contests.

Overall, their remaining opponents have a collective winning percentage

Did the Milwaukee Brewers Overpay Corey Hart?

Corey Hart is having a huge season for the Milwaukee Brewers in 2010 and the Brewers have rewarded Hart with a contract extension.

The Brewers signed Hart yesterday to a three-year extension worth $26.5 million. The deal will cover Hart’s final year of arbitration and his first two years of free agency eligibility.

Hart has put up an impressive .288/.346/.565 hitting line with 23 HRs so far this season. The Brewers now have their left fielder and right fielder locked up for the foreseeable future.

New York Mets: Can Angel Pagan Replace Carlos Beltran?

Most of the time when we read about Ivan “Pudge” Rodriguez it is about some sort of new record or history in the making.

Last Monday, Rodriguez, 38, wrote another page to his illustrious career as he became the fifth catcher to reach 300 home runs in Major League history with a homer against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Five MLB Players That Still Might Be Traded

Although the July 31st trade deadline has passed, teams can still try to pass players through waivers in hopes to make an August trade.

Here are five players that might be changing teams in the next few weeks.

State of the Yankees: Aug. 3, 2010

As of today, the New York Yankees are in first place in the ultra competitive American League East with a record of 66-39—not to mention they have the best record in baseball.

At first glance, it looks pretty good, right?

The Yankees have dropped three out of four games to division rivals: two against Tampa Bay and one against Toronto.

Yesterday's loss to Toronto put the Yankees in a tie with Tampa for the division lead.

New York Mets: The Sad Realization

I was watching this team play baseball yesterday in what was a must-win game for the Mets. They knew how big these next six games were going to be. They needed to show in last night's game that they were ready to do anything to win and that they would not go down without a fight. But they didn't do that.

New York Yankees: It's Not Panic Time in the Bronx

With last night's 8-6 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays and the Rays win over the Twins, the Yankees dropped into a tie with Tampa Bay for first place in the American League East. Today marks the first time since June 20 that the Yankees have not been in sole possession of first place in the East Division. Despite all this, it's not time to panic in the Bronx.
