Ticking Time Bomb Explodes: Ozzie Guillen's Rant Is Too Hot in Baseball

Can someone explain who the hell Ozzie Guillen is?

He’s a profligate imbecile bound to explode, simply because he has no morals or acceptable character, with an awful history ripping athletes, umpires, and management when the Chicago White Sox derail and badly stumble.

National League Playoff Picture Could Be a Lot Clearer by Friday Morning

Every now and then the Major League Baseball schedule puts together one of those weeks.

From time to time the schedule aligns in such a way that every game seems important—one of those weeks where the loser goes home and the winner goes on.

This is one of those weeks.

The playoff picture in both the American and National Leagues is, at this point, muddy. In both leagues right now, more than half of the teams are still in the playoff hunt. But this week could see the National League lose four playoff contenders.

How Ozzie Guillen Is Crying Wolf About Racism In Baseball

Ozzie Guillen has never shown any fear about expressing his opinion, no matter how controversial.

So it should come as no surprise that Ozzie Guillen decided to give his two cents about what he believes is racism in baseball.

However, Ozzie Guillen is completely wrong in his analysis of the situation.

Here is what Ozzie said concerning the treatment of Asian and Latino baseball players.

Alex Rodriguez, Stuck at 599, Goes for 600 at Yankee Stadium...Again!

The New York Yankees and Alex Rodriguez wrapped up their road trip Sunday with a disappointing loss to the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field.

Equally as disappointing (especially for Rays fans looking to cash in on catching A-Rod’s 600th home run ball) was that A-Rod was not in the starting lineup and struck out in his only at-bat.

Orioles State Of The Union: How Will Buck Showalter Use The Rest Of 2010

For those fans still holding on in Baltimore, tonight will be the beginning of yet another “new era” for the organization, as the team plays its first game under manager Buck Showalter.

While the looming hire of Showalter was perhaps the worst kept secret in all of sports over the last month, the fact that the deal is finally done now means that the (re)rebuilding process can begin now rather than come spring training.

The True Victim of the Steroid Era: Albert Pujols

As a diehard Cubs fan, I know firsthand how good Albert Pujols is.

Astro-nomical Talent Dump: Roy Oswalt and Lance Berkman Trades in Review

Houston Astros fans should not feign felicity.

They should not dance in the streets surrounding Minute Maid Park, host vivacious celebrations, or cheer as if the August rain will soon turn to gold. They should feel disillusioned, upset, and hungry for change. If the 2005 World Series qualifies as the franchise's peak, last week was its ultimate valley.

The Astros fell into a state of such disrepair that management needed to trade two icons to give the team a chance to compete.

What Should the Cincinnati Reds Do With Drew Stubbs?

The Reds are starting to get to the end of the bat stub with their starting center fielder. Drew Stubbs is currently going through the worst stretch of his short major league career.  In his last 36 at bats, he has just one hit and 17 strike-outs.  Ewww...

That's a monster-sized slump that can't be tolerated on a team in a pennant race. Going back even further, in 52 games since June 1st, he's sporting these numbers: .222 BA/.271 OBP/.634 OPS with seven HR, 24 RBI and 58 K.

The Heartbeats of the Future: 10 Young Marlins Key To Postseason Return

In 2012, the Florida Marlins will move into a new ballpark in downtown Miami and will be renamed the Miami Marlins with an all new logo, color scheme, and young nucleus.

Most of their stars will be 30-years-old or younger, and I will highlight that here. Certainly, they have one of the most talented nucleus of players in the Major Leagues, and there is no telling what they can do once they move into a new environment, a true baseball stadium with the top players in the game.

Lance Berkman, Austin Kearns Trades Prove Yanks Pick 'Age Before Beauty'

Bench, bench, and more bench is what New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman added right before the non-waiver trade deadline.

Will Cashman’s last minute moves help the team down the stretch?

Let’s hope so, but for now, we might as well get to know the two new Yankees hitters.

Other than adding Cleveland Indians pitcher Kerry Wood to help the bullpen, Cashman added fellow Indians outfielder Austin Kearns and Houston Astros first baseman Lance Berkman.
