Why Kerry Wood Can Be Valuable Again with New York Yankees

Saturday, July 31 at 4:30 p.m. marked MLB's official trade deadlinewell, technically at least.

New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman was hard at work trying to fix the mess the organization has made of Joba Chamberlain.

It is no secret that the Yankees don’t know what else to do with Chamberlain, but looking at his historically short career, the answer is pretty evident.

Should Don Wakamatsu Be Fired?

Earlier in the weekend Geoff Baker of The Seattle Times wrote an article outlining the idea that Upper Management might not be backing Don Wakamatsu completely, and possibly planning to fire Wak. Since taking over the Seattle Mariners Wak took a bad team and made them Semi-relevant in 2009. Well he has now took a semi-relevant team and made them completely bad.

Report: Philadelphia Phillies' Slugger Ryan Howard Sprains Right Ankle

Things just couldn't get worse for the Philadelphia Phillies.

First, after landing the best player on the trade deadline market in Roy Oswalt, he struggled in his debut against a terrible team in the Washington Nationals. It was not a good sight to see, as Washington marched to an 8-1 victory.

Then, entering a game against the Nats again, it seemed that Philly would win and shake off that loss they suffered from.

They didn't. The Nationals won again.

A Possible 2011 New York Mets Roster

We all know this team needs a huge change. A little fix here and a little fix there isn't working. It's either go hard or go home. This "2011" team is a team I think is very possible for the Mets. Again, this is just an opinion.

The payroll would be lower than this year if this can happen. That is with Castillo and Perez gone. If they trade those two, this team can be in great shape.

"Felix Hernandez has 10 starts this yr in which he’s thrown 7 inn and allowed no more than 3 ER without getting a W. His 7-8 is so deceptive."

MLB Trade Deadline: Analyzing Cardinals Acquisition of Jake Westbrook

The St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, and Cleveland Indians all made a trade at the deadline Saturday.  San Diego and St. Louis, two teams making playoff pushes, made moves that filled a hole that they had on each of their respective rosters.

St. Louis acquired right-handed starting pitcher Jake Westbrook, Single A left-handed pitcher Nick Greenwood, and cash, while trading outfielder Ryan Ludwick to San Diego.

Cleveland Rocks: Why the Indians' Deadline Deals Are Huge Wins For Tribe

It's been a whirlwind week for Indians fans.

After finally trading longtime fan frustration Jhonny Peralta on Wednesday, the Indians traded Austin Kearns to the Yankees Friday night, flipped ten-year Tribe veteran Jake Westbrook to the Cardinals Saturday afternoon, then pawned off Kerry Wood's contract.
