MLB Trade Deadline: The Winners and Losers So Far at the Trade Deadline

This trade deadline has seen many, many trades so far, like Roy Oswalt going to Philly and Cliff Lee going to Texas.

Do not expect anything less before this deadline is over. Some players still on the market are Ted Lilly and Adam Dunn, who could really impact a team's playoff hopes. In this list, I will give the winners and losers so far during the trade period, and some targets the losers should go after.

New York Mets Poll: If Playoffs Start Tomorrow, What's The Rotation?

If the Mets somehow made the playoffs and they started tomorrow, what do you think the rotation should be?

My pick is Santana, RA Dickey, and Niese, with Pelfrey there if anyone gets in trouble.

While Big Pelf was lights out earlier in the season, if the playoffs started tomorrow, I have more confidence in Dickey and Niese.

Hopefully the Mets can stay in the race and Pelfrey can find that arm he left back there somewhere in May.

MLB Trade Deadline: Milwaukee Brewers Say They're Contenders, But Why?

We’ve seen a lot of questionable decisions in the run-up to this year’s non-waiver trade deadline.

The Nationals have refused to move the soon-to-be-gone-anyway Adam Dunn without a getting an elite prospect in return. The Twins traded away one of the game’s top future backstops for an overrated closer. And the Rangers reportedly tried to get the Marlins to add ace Josh Johnson as a throw-in in their deal for Jorge Cantu.

MLB Trade Rumors: The Colorado Rockies Red Tag Sale Addition

The Rockies are reeling.

Eight straight losses in July will do that to a team. While the Rockies aren’t officially out of anything right now, they will have to have another miracle turn around and play-off run like they had in 2007 to make the playoffs.

But this team isn’t 2007. The 2007 Rockies had better starting pitching and one of the best defenses in the history of major league baseball. Where this team features base-running errors, fielding errors and a high strike out rate for its hitters.

MLB Trade Rumors: Edwin Jackson on the Verge of Heading To White Sox

Late last night word got out that the White Sox and Diamondbacks are close to agreeing on a deal that would send Daniel Hudson along with a minor league pitcher to the Diamondbacks for Edwin Jackson .

On the surface this seems like a logical deal for each team. With Jackson the Sox would be getting a more experienced version of Daniel Hudson and a guy who would instill a little more confidence when he takes the mound down the stretch.

Bill Simmons Is Wrong: The 2010 Boston Red Sox Are Far From Boring

Sometimes one reads an article that is so far from what one believes, it makes one scream and hastily hammer out an angry comment.

ESPN’s Bill Simmons wrote such an article today, about how the Boston Red Sox have been boring this year. Many things, he says, have contributed to this.

Phillies Must Become Road Warriors To Win NL East in 2010

In sports, being able to take care of business at home usually separates the bad teams from the good ones. But being able to win on the road is ultimately what separates the good teams from the very best.

It’s no secret that the Phillies’ uncanny ability to consistently win away from home has helped make them of baseball’s best teams in recent years.

It's Dustin Moseley Easy for Yanks in Win

Yankees manager Joe Girardi was impressed enough to say he may have found a replacement in the starting rotation until Andy Pettitte returns from injury.

Who will be taking Pettitte's spot? Dustin Moseley, who did just enough to earn another start after throwing six innings of one run ball in his first start since last April. The righty has battled back through an arm and hip surgery.

While he said he "felt calm from the get-go," Moseley admitted he may have been trying too hard in the first inning.

New York Yankee Trade Targets: Separating Fantasy From Reality

As the deals begin to pick up steam in the waning moments before Saturday's MLB non-waiver trade deadline, inevitably the accompanying rumors have increased in frequency as well.

MLB Trade Rumors Live Blog: Adam Dunn to Yankees, White Sox or Rays?

10:54am CDT - Bob Nightengale of USA Today says the White Sox are now apparently working with the Astros on a deal for right-hander Brett Myers.

Myers is a guy that I thought the San Diego Padres would go after but I haven't heard a single thing on that front. However, we didn't know that the Padres had gotten in late for Roy Oswalt after the deal to the Phillies had already been announced. You just never know who's really in or out on these deals.
