New York Yankees Showing Interest In Ty Wigginton?

The Yankees are looking to add to their offense for the second half of the 2010 season.

According to Ed Price of AOLFunhouse and MLB Trade Rumors, the Yankees are showing major interest in Baltimore Orioles utility player Ty Wigginton.

Wigginton is in the final year of his contract with the last-place Orioles and has been rumored to be on the trading block.

Trading for a guy like Wigginton would make sense for the Yankees.

Moves the Washington Nationals Will Make at the Trade Deadline

There is less than a month to baseball’s trading deadline and the Washington Nationals will soon have to decide whether they are going to be buyers or sellers.

Yankees, Mets Rumors of the Week: Cliff Lee, Dan Haren, Ty Wiggy, and More

The All-Star break is approaching and that is usually when trade talks start heating up. Rumors are flying around all over the place: chat rooms, internet blogs , news reports, etc.

One of my favorite places to find the latest rumors is MLBTradeRumors.com .

Here are the following moves and rumors from the Yankees and Mets that have popped up this past week:

Never Say Die: Tips For Resuscitating Your Flatlining Fantasy Baseball Team

Few two-letter combos can be as devastating as the dreaded “DL” in fantasy baseball.

Anyone who has played the sport knows that dreams of championship sugarplums can quickly dissolve into nightmares of basement-dwelling dust bunnies thanks to a few badly timed injuries.

In one high-stakes 16-team roto league, my team is redder than Santa’s suit on Christmas Eve. Grady Sizemore, Scott Sizemore, Asdrubal Cabrera, Nate McLouth, Maicer Izturis, Jeremy Hermida, and Brandon Webb, among others, have given my squad more DLs than HRs or RBIs.

Detroit Tigers Need Reliever Ryan Perry Now More Than Ever

The Detroit Tigers are in a tough predicament. They are one game behind the Minnesota Twins, one game ahead of the Chicago White Sox, and they have lost one of their best relievers in Joel Zumaya.

Zumaya fractured his right elbow throwing a 99 mph fastball against Minnesota's Delmon Young. And just like that Zumaya was done for the season.

Zumaya had a history of injuries with the Tigers. In the past three seasons he has ruptured a tendon in his right hand and injured his right shoulder multiple times.

Fantasy Baseball Scouting Report: Andrew Oliver

Every time we think the Tigers have depth in the rotation, they seem to have to dig deep into their system to find someone to plug into the mix.

The latest find has been left-handed pitcher Andrew Oliver, who made his second career start earlier this week after being drafted in the second round of the 2009 draft.

MLB All-Star Game: Final American League Ballot

The All-Star selection show is on Sunday. Inevitably, there are going to be some snubs (whether it be due to fan voting or the "every team must be represented" rule).

As of today, here are who should be the 34 All-Stars for the American League in Anaheim this year.

Philadelphia Phillies Likely Felled by Injuries

As if the 2010 version of the Philadelphia Phillies wasn't aggravating enough, the thinned-down and beaten up version of the Phillies is enough to drive a man insane.

Jimmy Rollins, Placido Polanco, Carlos Ruiz, Chase Utley, J.A. Happ, Ryan Madson, Brad Lidge, and others have all seen time on the bench or the DL. In fact, the only guy to see time in every game this season has been Ryan Howard—that's it. One guy.

Bengie Molina Wasn't Helping Struggling San Francisco Staff During Tailspin

Bengie Molina didn't win the the San Francisco Giants' Willie Mac Award twice because him teammates liked how he looked in his uniform. He was, obviously, a very popular and respected teammate.

Let's put the idea that his departure to the Texas Rangers will spell doom for Giants pitchers to rest immediately, however.

Instant Replay: "Bud Selig, How Much More Blood Do You Need?"

Since the whole instant replay fiasco came out,  I try to keep my nose out of these controversial stances. I'm all for the integrity of the game and all the same for improving the game as our standard of living allows.

However, after tonight's recent game of the Tampa Bay Rays vs the Minnesota Twins, I have opted to break my silence.
