Here’s the first look at the 2015 Lester’s Legends designated hitter rankings.

1. Edwin Encarnacion, Toronto Blue Jays

Edwin Encarnacion has averaged 86 runs, 37.3 home runs and 104 RBI over the past three seasons. He’s a great bet for power, but as a .265 career hitter, he could hurt you in the batting-average category. Encarnacion also has first base eligibility.

Last season, I wrote a series of articles breaking down my position-by-position power rankings as the season progressed.

With spring training games set to kick off this week and the regular season fast approaching, now is as good a time as any to put together my preseason rankings for 2015.

What follows will be a look at the 10 best players at each position, based simply on how I expect them to perform in the year ahead.

With the top 150 fantasy baseball players all ordered and ranked on the initial 2015 Big Board, the individual position rankings are well underway. All told, there will be (count 'em) 300 players ranked.

Full-squad workouts are officially underway in Arizona and Florida, and a full slate of spring training games is set to kick off Wednesday as we move ever closer to Opening Day.

There is a lot to be sorted out between now and the start of the season, with position battles to be played out, injuries to be dealt with and 25-man rosters to be set heading into the year.

To put it simply, there are significant questions facing all 30 MLB teams, regardless of their outlook for the upcoming season.

Imagine a team consisting exclusively of MLB's rising stars. It would be the kind of lineup that nobody would ever want to face.

To land a spot on this squad, players have to meet a couple of crucial requirements. All the players who made the cut for the MLB emerging stars team have actually appeared in the big leagues. At the same time, the standouts can't be too established, either. As a result, players are only eligible if they have yet to earn an All-Star nod.

After another long, cold winter, baseball season is finally upon us. 

As usual, spring training will be our first opportunity to catch a glimpse of MLB's hottest stories. While the games may not matter in the standings, each contest should provide baseball fans with important evidence to a handful of the hottest questions around the league. 

As we progress toward Opening Day, we will see instances where players have used the spring as a jumping-off point for their respective seasons.

Most spring training storylines you hear of will be about baseball. The whole idea is to mark the return of baseball, after all, so that makes sense.

But then there are the other storylines. The ones that are looming over everything and taking the attention away from what's happening on the field.

You know, the distractions.

As March approaches and actual games are on the horizon, the time to break down position battles is upon us. As far as Cactus and Grapefruit League games go, they might not count toward reaching October, but for players involved in these toss-ups, they are ever meaningful. 

Spring training is now underway for the Boston Red Sox in Fort Myers, Florida. The Red Sox have 57 players in camp preparing for the 2015 season. In addition to the full 40-man roster, there are also 17 non-roster invitees trying to prove they belong.
