Just as we enter spring training, it is that time of year. It is time to predict everything  that is going to happen in 2010. With the suprises of baseball, though, it seems you can never be too far out on your predictions, but you can never be just right.

The NL East is known as one of the top divisions in baseball. But last year with the injuries of the Mets, the Phillies took the division with ease. Here are my predicted rankings of how the east will be set on the last day of the year.

Part 1 of a 5 Part Series

As the NBA All-Star weekend comes to a close and the Raptors get back to the grind, I find myself thinking more about the upcoming MLB season. The time until spring training can be measured in days and before we know it opening day will be upon us.

For baseball fans in Toronto, the first pitch will begin a season-long question and answer period. Even though we have little chance to make any kind of push, I will enjoy watching to see how everything turns out.

With the Hall of Fame election fast approaching, I’ve been meaning to write an article or two on the election, starting with my article before last. I’ve had plenty ideas of what to cover, but I finally decided to try and project the future of the Hall of Fame. I realize just how tricky this can get, with baseball’s unpredictability. 

As I continue to fine-tune my pitching projections, there is a major shakeup in the rankings.  Names like Yovani Gallardo, Ubaldo Jimenez and Javier Vazquez saw a major change in their rankings from the first time around. 

Let’s take a look at how things currently stand, but again keep in mind that these still have plenty of room to change as draft day grows closer.

The offseason is always filled with numerous trades and free agent signings.

But with each deal that's made, players' fantasy stocks increase, some decrease, and others stay the same with their new team.

This offseason was no different.

In fact, more major moves happened this year than in recent years.

We all know about Seattle's signing of Chone Figgins. The three-team deal involving Curtis Granderson and of course the four-team megadeal that had Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee changing addresses.

The title to my original piece was "Roy Halladay Should NOT Be in the Yankees' 2010 Plans." However, as usual, the thoughts are in my head and in my notebook (with generous amounts of information and facts to back up my thoughts), but the time to get it all down was non-existent.

Then with the whopping four-team, 175-player trade that went down last week, I thought that I had to get something down.

Halladay being traded outside of the American League was the best thing to happen to the Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees.

Now is the winter of the Angels' discontent.
