2010 Twins Predictions Day - April 2nd

I e-mailed this to a lot of Twins bloggers. If you didn't get it, there's a good chance it's due to my incredibly horrid internet connection (which made me re-send it about eight times) instead of me just forgetting about you. I sent it to nearly every e-mail address that I could find from the Twins blogs on my sidebar as well as others, so don't feel bad if you didn't get it because there's a good chance that you're not alone.

2010 MLB Predictions: AL Central Preview

The American League Central will likely be the worst division in baseball this year. According to my calculations (which basically involve ranking every player and the managers), the AL Central will combine for 375 wins, equaling an average of 75 wins per team.

Yikes.

Let's see why this division projects poorly...

5. Cleveland Indians

Projected record: 62-100, 28th in infield, 12th in outfield, 29th in starting pitching, 20th in bullpen.

Hit and Run: Jayson Werth, Another Cut, Rings, and Feds

Joba Chamberlain got his first taste of action as a reliever this spring. He had a save in today’s 2-1 win over the Detroit Tigers. Here is some other news on a nice Saturday afternoon:

MLB: Carter's 2010 American League West Outlook and Predictions

Los Angeles Angels (Last Season: 97-65)

The Angels have lost key players over the offseason such as John Lackey, Chone Figgins, and Vladimir Guerrero.

These are players that have contributed so much over the years towards the Angels’ success. Because of this, many might think that due to these players departing, the Angels will not be nearly as good as they have been over the past eight years. But for some reason, I’m thinking the opposite.

Morning Hits: Past Trades and Former Yankees

As Yankee bloggers we all bow down to River Ave Blues and they had another great couple of articles over the past two days going over Brian Cashman’s best and worst trades as the Yankees GM.

Four Proposed Rule Changes for Major League Baseball

Well, we’re twenty games into the college baseball season, and the TCU Horned Frogs are now No. 4 in the nation.  I was watching them sweep Texas Tech last weekend shredding on a nice mid 70’s Tejas spring day with my bud Mexican Joe, and we agreed that the scene was quite idyllic.

'Cept for the dang ping of those stupid aluminum bats.

Why the Philadelphia Phillies Appear on the Verge of Three-Peating in the NL

Every year as a Phillies fan, I’ve grown accustomed to saying “wait until next year.”

Next year we’ll pick up a big-name player in free agency. We’ll overtake the Braves or Mets in the division race. We’ll get a couple of good breaks, stay healthy all season, and win it all.

Guess what?

It happened.

The New York Mets Face The Spring Time Dilemma

This is the time during Spring Training that all Major League teams starts to cut down on their rosters, sending some players down to their Minor League affiliates while others are sent on their way right out of the organization.

The funny thing about this process is that there are very few surprises as to who stays and who goes.

Whitey Ford Never Started an "Ultimate" Game

Kris Burmen has always known that Whitey Ford is a terribly overrated pitcher. He has some facts to support his contention.

Whitey Ford was the Chairman of the Board. He was the pitching ace that New York Yankees' manager Casey Stengel saved to face the other contenders.

Sky Is the Limit for Roy Halladay in the NL

During the better part of the year and a half prior to December 2009, many baseball fans were kept guessing as to whether or not Roy "Doc" Halladay of the Toronto Blue Jays would be dealt from the team and where it would be.

For most, it was a question of "when" not "if" arguably the best pitcher in the game would land with a contender sporting a fat wallet.
