New York Yankees Sign Chan Ho Park

If you can’t beat them, join them.

Last year, the New York Yankees beat the Philadelphia Phillies and Chan Ho Park in the World Series, so Park figured why not join the team that beat him in the fall classic.

Detroit Tigers: Johnny Damon Finds a Home

After a long winter of speculating about where Johnny Damon would play in 2010, it appears that the two-time World Champion has finally made a decision.

The Detroit Tigers have stepped in with an offer that apparently was to Damon's liking. It is reportedly a one-year deal worth about $8 million.

All is pending a physical, which sources say should be taken today or tomorrow.

The deal makes sense for both sides:

Mike Cameron Will Lead the Boston Red Sox To a World Series Title

The Boston Red Sox have done a wonderful job of overhauling their roster this winter. After being swept out of the playoffs by the Angels, GM Theo Epstein knew major changes needed to be made, and he did just that.

John Lackey, the top free agent pitcher, was added to provide depth to the rotation as well as give a wealth of big-game experience to the staff.  Adrian Beltre and Marco Scutaro were brought in to retool the left side of the infield.

Talkin' Boston Red Sox with The Bottom Line

As Yankee fans, we think we know everything about the Red Sox. Unfortunately, what we think we know is that it’s going to be another 86 years until they win another World Series. In reality, not only do the Red Sox have a chance to win the American League East this year, but they’re not going away thanks to the fact that they’re being run by one of the better front offices in baseball.

Why the Rays Will Win the AL East and the World Series in 2010

What’s that smell?

Ahhhh, yes. Spring Training is in the air.  Christmas comes early for baseball fans across the country.

15 teams call Florida home for Spring Training.

Charlotte County Sports Park doesn’t have the flashy name of other ballparks, such as "Legends Field."  The Park is simple.  It houses 7,000 seats and sold out everyone of those seats in 2009 Spring Training.

Global World Series: Worst Idea Since Babies Slept in Cages

In 1937, someone who wasn't very intelligent invented the product pictured above. If it isn't evident from the image or from this article's title, the Baby Cage was meant to give an infant some fresh air by suspending them outside of a window in a wire cage.

Putting a child in a cage is inhumane enough, but hanging that cage dozens of feet above a busy street with nothing holding it up but thin metal rods borders on sadism.

Casey Kotchman, his hands in his lap, waits patiently as his plane lands in Seattle. The Emerald City is particularly resonant today, the horizon shimmering blue in the Pacific Northwest as the chill of winter bites at the coastline. But there's still that sparkle, that tiny gleam that you can only see if you're looking for it.

It's the hope embodied by the entire city of Seattle.

It's the hope of a World Series team.
