This just hasn't been an awards season to remember for Zack Greinke.

After losing out for the National League Cy Young, the right-handed ace was snubbed for the Best Starting Pitcher honor in the inaugural edition of the 2015 Esurance MLB Awards.

Major League Baseball has dominated headlines all week long thanks to the Baseball Writers' Association of America revealing its annual selections for Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, MVP and the Cy Young Award, but the hardware handouts didn't stop there.  

Coming off a 94-loss season and needing to build their team from the bottom up, the Milwaukee Brewers could make Adam Lind available to teams in need of an offensive upgrade at first base or designated hitter.

There wasn't much in the way of surprises when it came to the recipients of baseball's major individual awards in 2015—aside from a National League Cy Young Award race that could have gone to either Los Angeles' Zack Greinke or Chicago's Jake Arrieta, the winners were who we thought they'd be.

So while it's incredibly early, what better time to take a look at how the races for the 2016 season might look?

It may only be the second week of the MLB offseason, but there are plenty of intriguing storylines already developing among baseball circles. Over the next few slides, we'll take a look at the hottest questions that have developed over the course of November. 

There's always plenty to talk about with regards to an MLB offseason. Where will prized free agents land? What trends are developing on the trade market? Which teams are being aggressive, and which ones are in sell mode? 

Like most of us this time of year, Major League Baseball teams have great big lists of things to buy. All they have to decide now is where to shop: Free Agents 'R' Us, or Trades 'R' Us.

And maybe more so than in any other winter in recent memory, that's a tough call.

Buster Olney of ESPN reported on the two NL West clubs, saying they "checked in on his availability."

Buckle up, folks. For if the first two weeks of baseball's offseason are any indication, the Hot Stove League is going to take us on a long, strange trip this winter.

Trades, and not free-agent signings, have dominated both the rumor mill and transaction sheets, which is certainly surprising when you consider the slew of high-profile names that are currently unsigned. Then again, we are still very early in the offseason. Things are sure to pick up from here on both fronts.
