OK, a couple of nights ago I watched an Angels game in which they broke the Guinness Book of World Records for most people wearing a Snuggie.  Now, on Friday I am watching the A’s/Angels and the Oakland announcers are showing their producer in an A’s Snuggie.  So, my question is, what is going on in California and Snuggies?  It is a freakin' blanket with sleeves!!!!!!!  Am I missing something??????  This is ridiculous.

Here’s a look at some unheralded fantasy baseball players who played well on Thursday.

Bronson Arroyo, Cincinnati Reds

Arroyo threw a gem but earned a no-decision. He gave up one run on four hits in eight innings while striking out six.

Another day, another full slate of baseball. Game five of 162 in Fantasy Baseball Insiders’ summer-long journey featured Thursday’s matchup between the Dodgers and Pirates.

Game No. 5—Los Angeles Dodgers-Pittsburgh Pirates

Rafael Furcal and Matt Kemp had two hits and two runs on Thursday against the Pirates. Kemp also added two RBI.

Hopefully Neftali Feliz helped some of those who were freaking out after his first bad outing on Thursday when he pitched one inning and struck out all three.  Feliz is a stud, ladies and gentlemen, and I believe that he will be a starter at some point during the season.  Even until that time I think he has fantasy value because of the good number of strikeouts that he will get. He should have a great ERA and WHIP as well.   

The day is here, the draft is over, and there are many, many surprises for those who couldn't make it to the war room. In our league, there were a few teams that had notable auto-drafts.

Green Monster Hooligans is a good friend of mine, one who is widely know simply as "Boston," because of his prolific love of the BoSox. So it was only fitting when he auto-drafted and with his first-round pick (third overall), was rewarded with Alex Rodriguez, star third baseman for the New York Yankees. 

We’re just three days removed from Opening Day, yet Fantasy Baseball Insiders have already scored four games as part of our journey to watch 162. Wednesday featured the Giants/Astros matchup in Houston.

Game No. 4 – San Francisco Giants vs. Houston Astros

Red Sox “Ace” Josh Beckett signed a four-year, $68-million contract extension early this week to remain with Boston through the 2014 season. The signing effectively locked in the bulk of the Red Sox’ rotation for years to come and calmed the nerves of many the Fenway Faithful.

Fantasy owners—and Red Sox fans for that matter—beware.

On March 2, we released our 2010 starting pitching tier rankings.

In the five weeks in between, we’ve seen some surprisingly dominant performances and some lingering injury concerns, both of which have had an effect on our top 50 rankings for starting pitchers.

A 6.32 ERA…

A 1.76 WHIP…

A 5.67 K/9 vs. a 5.03 BB/9…

Looking at these statistics from 2009, you have to instantly conclude that the stats belong to one of the hottest pitchers entering 2010 for fantasy owners, don’t you? 

Of course, we’re talking about Fausto Carmona, who is arguably looking at one of the biggest turnarounds ever.

I heart Matt Wieters !  I heart him very, very much.  The second year backstop for the Baltimore Orioles is going to be an absolute stud this year and he got off to a great start with a home run in his first game.  I am definitely suggesting that you at least look into getting him on your team, although perhaps after a home run it might not be the best time.  He is worth trading up for if you have a sub-par catcher and he is worth trading down from if you have a top-tier catcher and perhaps you can improve your team somewhere else.&nbs
