Fantasy Baseball Insiders Tonight, April 16: Dodgers' Andre Ethier Homers Twice

Game No. 12 in our journey to score 162 games this summer featured an Alfonso Soriano spotting and an unlikely performance from a less-than-desirable pitcher.

Fantasy Baseball Risers and Fallers: Week Two

The 2010 season is just about to enter its third full week, and we've seen plenty of surprises already.

Several players have unexpectedly emerged as seemingly-reliable fantasy options, while other normally productive players are off to slow starts.

Here's a rundown of who's hot and who's not as we begin the second half of April.

Risers

Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts – 4/16/10

Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

Carlos Silva, Chicago Cubs
The Astros are bad. Silva gave up twp unearned runs on five hits with 5 Ks in seven innings. He’s 1-0 with a 0.69 ERA.

Don't Sleep on Jake Fox: Why the Oakland A's DH Has Fantasy Value

He doesn’t have a starting job. He plays in an extreme pitcher's park on a terrible lineup.
So why should fantasy owners keep an eye on Jake Fox?
Well, he did just hit his first home run of the season.
Fox is what we in the business call a free swinger.

Ricky Romero Adds a Two-Seamer and Fantasy Value

This past Tuesday, Toronto starter Ricky Romero took a no-hitter into the eighth inning against the Chicago White Sox.  While the no-hit bid fell that inning, Romero ended the game with a career-high 12 strikeouts, allowing two runs on only one hit, an Alex Rios two-run home run.

Fantasy Baseball Insiders Tonight 4/15: Brewers' Ryan Braun Shines

Fantasy Baseball Insiders’ 162-game journey is being put on hold for one night. While time didn’t allow the Insiders to score an entire game on Thursday, we did watch parts of multiple games.

For this reason, we’ll skip straight to the relevant player information from Thursday’s games.

Rounding the Bases: April 15th

Francisco Liriano wowed the home crowd and the Boston Red Sox as he recaptured some of his past magic and threw seven shutout innings, walked just two, and struck out eight.

It was a marked improvement from his first start, and I am sure Liriano owners everywhere are DREAMING of the possibility of him regaining that 2007 form.

Fantasy Baseball: One Man's Trash...Week Two

Kyle Blanks is the top name on ESPN's most dropped list, but is one man's trash another man's treasure?  This new weekly series will take a look at a few recent drops and see if there is a chance for these rejected players to bounce back and provide value for teams willing to take a chance on their talents.

Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts: 4/14/10

Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well on Wednesday.

David DeJesus, Kansas City Royals
DeJesus went two for five with a run, a double, two RBI, and a walk. He’s hitting .324 on the year.
