Florida Marlins-New York Mets: Mets Squeak Past Marlins Behind Dickey, Dessens

NEW YORK--Coming home, the Mets needed to put together a good home stand, in order to stay afloat with their road woes.

It didn't get off to a good start, as the Mets trailed the Marlins 3-0 early in this game, but R.A. Dickey settled down nicely to keep the Mets in it.

After retiring the first five batters of the game to face him, Dickey allowed a run in the second on a triple and RBI single by Cameron Maybin.

Houston Wins Again, Despite Blown Save? You Bet Your Astros.

Amazingly, the Houston Astros have turned pitiful late game plays into incredible ninth inning heroics.

Those same Astros were at it again on Thursday afternoon at Minute Maid Park, battling the bewildered Washington Nationals and walking off the field with a come-from-behind 6-4 victory.

Zack Got Greinked Again

As I watch the entirety of the Royals team fail to support their ace for just the latest in what has been a career of having been let down for Zack Greinke, one thought keeps returning to me. I actively loathe half of this team. From The Yunicorn to Guillen to nearly all of the bullpen, this Royals team plays baseball in a manner that is not befitting a Major League baseball team.

Slump-Dog Millionaires: Giants' Molina and Rowand Earn Last Night's Paycheck

So far in 2010, we're beginning to see why the San Francisco Giants have earned their new tag line. In case you haven't heard Giants announcer Duane Kuiper say it, he sums up the season in the following sentence.

Giants baseball. It's torture.

And it has been.

During the first month of the season, the Giants were seemingly the real deal. They led the National League in batting average in April (.280), and went 13-9 to grab a firm hold on second place behind the upstart Padres.

New York Mets Waste Another Johan Santana Gem

Painful.  That is the perfect word to use when describing the Mets loss to the Padres in the series finale.

The Mets had a chance to accomplish something they haven’t since July 25 and 26 of 2009: Win back to back games on the road.

Unfortunately, they lost a game that they were one strike away from winning.

Johan Santana’s Aceness

I have always said that the true mark of an ace, is a pitcher that can hold offenses at bay when he doesn’t have his best stuff.

No Road Series Victory for Mets After Gonzalez Walk-Off Slam

SAN DIEGO-- The Mets were looking for their first road series victory since July 2009. They had their ace Johan Santana on the mound, and everything was heading in the right direction seemingly.

Trying to follow up a brilliant outing from co-ace Mike Pelfrey, Santana went to the mound and didn't have his "Type A" stuff. He battled through seven innings of work, throwing over 120 pitches, and gutting out a scoreless effort for the second straight start.

Three's a Charm: Garret Anderson Walk-Off Leads Dodgers To Series Sweep

Before the series began on Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, no Dodger fan would have ever imagined the outcome.

Ticket holders at Dodger Stadium certainly got their money's worth: three walk-offs in three days, and a series sweep.

Game one took a walk-off balk to bring a victory to Los Angeles, while game two saw a flair for the dramatic with a Matt Kemp walk-off home run in the bottom of the tenth inning.

Jim Joyce Ruins Armando Galarraga's Perfect Game

Armando Galarraga threw a perfect game this evening.

Unfortunately, the scoreboard will forever show the Cleveland Indians getting one hit.

Jim Joyce's missed call on the 27th out will most likely go down as the call that instituted instant replay into Baseball.

There have always been controversial calls throughout baseball's history.

However, that has been the beauty of America's game. Human error has always been a factor in the game.

Up until tonight, I loved the fact that baseball didn't use instant replay.

Detroit Loses Another Gem

General Motors Plants have been taken away over the years and Detroit has suffered. Detroit has suffered their share of pains by far, and another one occurred tonight. Armando Galarraga, the 28-year-old from Venezula, was one out away from a perfect game against the Indians.

Baseball's Top Five Craziest Current Events

A typical response to why someone is not a baseball fan is that the game is too slow and boring.

If they only knew that baseball loves the drama.

Right now, it could not be more of a soap opera. Teams are soaring when they should be collapsing, and vice versa.

Here is my list (in dramatic order) of the top five craziest things currently going on in MLB:
