Prince Fielder Is Crowned King

It should come at no surprise that Prince Fielder can hit home runs, in fact he hits them with authority and confidence unlike any other player. Which is why Fielder won the 2009 Home Run Derby.

First off a little history lesson, Prince has been hitting home runs his entire life, when he was living in Detroit and his father, Cecil, was playing for the Detroit Tigers, Prince would hit home runs in Tiger Stadium to the amazement of all the players.

Should the New York Mets Emulate the San Francisco Giants?

He made it into the seventh inning last Thursday night with the no-hitter intact, and when he finally came off the mound in the same inning, the line score wasn’t nearly as strong as his performance indicated. Nonetheless, Tim Lincecum would garner his 10th win of the 2009 season.

Atlanta Braves Mid-Season Grades: Catchers

It’s the unofficial halfway point in the baseball season, and most teams are deciding whether or not they have what it takes to make a run at the postseason before the trade deadline at the end of the month.

The Braves are currently standing at 43-45, 6 games back of the division-leading Phillies.

To start this first half review, I will look at the performance the Braves received from the catchers on the season. All stat lines will be AVG/OBP/SLG/HR/RBI/SB

The Home Run Derby's Most Memorable Moments

The Home Run Derby. Home runs are probably among the most exciting plays in sports. And the Home Run Derby shows that off perfectly.
This article hopes to bring to light some of the single greates Home Run Derby moments. All the famous ones are here. Hamilton belting 35, and losing. Abreu belting 41, and winning. Ryne Sandberg at Wrigley Field.
This article is chronological order, and if you think that I've left any important Derby moments out, leave me a comment. Let's get this thing started.

If Quidditch Were A Real Sport, Which Athletes Would Be Playing?

In honor of the upcoming new Harry Potter movie, I felt that it would only be appropriate to dedicate an article to Quidditch, the ficitional sport that is depicted throughout the popular book and movie series.

Therefore, in this article I will put forth a hypothetical scenario: imagine that Quidditch suddenly became an actual sport, and a new team was recruting the world's top athletes to play. Who should be selected for this challenge?

Here are my picks:

Krispy Kreme to Feature Brandon Inge In New Commercials (HUMOR)

After tossing a doughnut in the 2009 Home Run Derby, Brandon Inge has played himself into a nice income opportunity.

Krispy Kreme, the home of the most delicious heart attack in North America, has reportedly moved in quickly signing the position-less wonder to an endorsement contract.

Inge failed to hit a single ball out of the park during the Derby, cranking consistent singles to left and center fields.

Thankfully for Inge, he avoided the embarrassment felt by the last Derby-related endorsement deal.

Garrett Olson and Ryan Rowland Smith Locks For Seattle Mariners Rotation

The Mariners made a necessary move this week sending struggling pitcher Brandon Morrow down to AAA Tacoma after his disappointing start in the 6-4 loss to the Texas Rangers.

Chicago Cubs & White Sox Midseason Report

The 2009 baseball season is at the annual All-Star break and both the Cubs and White Sox find themselves 3.5 games back in their divisions.

As usual, it has been an odd season on both sides of Chicago as both teams have struggled.

Yet both remain in contention.

The Cubs were supposed to dominate their division and be better than the team that won 97 games last season, but that has not happened. The offense has struggled mightily this season, as it ranks dead last in MLB with a .218 batting average with RISP.

Major League Baseball's Midseason Awards

The Midsummer Classic is upon us, and that can only mean one thing. Awards! Some are obvious, and some will probably make you shake your head. But, before you jump to any conclusions regarding my decisions, keep in mind that my friends call me "the Real Miss Cleo" when it comes to predictions. Yeah, I'm legit. So, here they are, the 2009 MLB Midseason Awards.

Some of us baseball aficionados definitely need to get a life.

When we're not sitting around endlessly speculating on whether or not the Blue Jays are going to trade superstar pitcher Roy Halladay, we're sitting around figuring out ever more creative ways to waste time on the Great American Pastime.

What follows may be a winner—in terms of wasting time.
