Not so fast. But in three days running, the Cubs have gone 3-for-3 in the biggest NL Baseball Writers’ Association of America awards. Had they hit like that last month, the New York Mets never would have swept them in the NL Championship Series. Whoops.

As a finesse left-hander whose average fastball doesn't even crack 90 miles per hour, Dallas Keuchel has no business winning a Cy Young in this day and age.

But while we're on the topic, you'll never guess what Keuchel won Wednesday.

The winners of hotly contested Cy Young Award battles in the American League and National League were revealed Wednesday, as the Chicago Cubs' Jake Arrieta and the Houston Astros' Dallas Keuchel took home the honors as the best pitchers in 2015. 

Voting was expected to be tight in both leagues, and the final point totals showed that that held true:

Houston Astros ace Dallas Keuchel won the AL Cy Young Award on Wednesday, as Major League Baseball confirmed on Twitter.

O'Day Won't Be Cheap for Prospective Buyers

According to Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com, O'Day is seeking a contract for four years that will pay him between $28 million and $36 million overall. 

The Detroit Tigers beefed up their bullpen in a big way Wednesday, as they acquired veteran reliever Francisco Rodriguez in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Brewers announced that they will receive minor league infielder Javier Betancourt and a player to be named later in the deal.

Boston Red Sox designated hitter David Ortiz officially announced Wednesday he's planning to retire from baseball following the 2016 season.
