There wasn't much in the way of surprises when it came to the recipients of baseball's major individual awards in 2015—aside from a National League Cy Young Award race that could have gone to either Los Angeles' Zack Greinke or Chicago's Jake Arrieta, the winners were who we thought they'd be.

So while it's incredibly early, what better time to take a look at how the races for the 2016 season might look?

It may only be the second week of the MLB offseason, but there are plenty of intriguing storylines already developing among baseball circles. Over the next few slides, we'll take a look at the hottest questions that have developed over the course of November. 

There's always plenty to talk about with regards to an MLB offseason. Where will prized free agents land? What trends are developing on the trade market? Which teams are being aggressive, and which ones are in sell mode? 

Like most of us this time of year, Major League Baseball teams have great big lists of things to buy. All they have to decide now is where to shop: Free Agents 'R' Us, or Trades 'R' Us.

And maybe more so than in any other winter in recent memory, that's a tough call.

We spend a lot of time early in the free-agent season discussing good fits and where players would like to go. And then it still almost always comes down to which team offers the most money.

We're now roughly three weeks removed from the end of the World Series and the MLB offseason is officially in full swing.

While there have been a few significant moves already, things generally don't get going until the winter meetings, which are scheduled to be held in Nashville, Tennessee, this year from Dec. 7-10.

Good morning/afternoon/evening, MLB offseason shoppers. While you're browsing the ace section—ogling a Zack Greinke, drooling over a David Price, maybe checking the sticker on a Stephen Strasburg—can we interest you in something else?

Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper may have been unanimously voted the 2015 National League Most Valuable Player on Thursday, but that doesn't mean he's perfect.

Harper went on SportsCenter Thursday after winning the NL MVP award earlier that night. At one point in the interview with anchor Scott Van Pelt, the 23-year-old Nationals star talked about "memes." Or as he put it, "meh-mays."

At times, it appears as though the Los Angeles Dodgers clubhouse is full of egos running amok, full of tension between players that has prevented the team from achieving greater success on the field.

Josh Donaldson had to work just to get to the big leagues. Alex Anthopoulos really had to work to get Josh Donaldson to Toronto.

If nothing else, the story of the American League's 2015 Most Valuable Player is the story of persistence.

You can make it, even if it takes you five years to leave the minor leagues behind. You can trade for a real difference-maker, even if he's "unavailable."

As the Chicago White Sox look to improve on a disappointing 2015 season, they are reportedly open to trading outfielder Avisail Garcia.
