Baseball season is over. The offseason can now begin.

The Kansas City Royals are World Series champions for the first time in 30 years, and business will soon be underway on Nov. 6 when free agency commences in Major League Baseball.

MLB free agency is bound to be hectic. Plenty of big names are looking for big-time contracts and could possibly find a new home in the process.

Let's take a look at some early rumors that we'll need to keep an eye on as the winter meetings draw near.

A few notable World Series participants will quickly shift their focus to free agency. Two drastically different outfielders from each side will hit the open market this winter. While one halted his rapidly rising stock, the other may have boosted his appeal with one monumental swing.

It's easy enough to understand why so many Royals would make the grade. The idea here is to highlight the top individual performers from the postseason—and the newly minted kings of baseball are loaded with players who fit that description.

They trailed in every game of the World Series. Heck, they trailed in the ninth inning of two of the four games they won (and in the eighth inning of another)!

The Kansas City Royals are amazing (sorry, New York Mets fans). They're also champions after Sunday night's 7-2, 12-inning win in Game 5.

When Game 5 of the 2015 World Series went to the ninth inning, FanGraphs gave the New York Mets almost a 95 percent chance of defeating the Kansas City Royals and cutting their 3-1 series lead to a 3-2 series lead.

Almost exactly 12 months ago, Salvador Perez stepped to the plate in Game 7 of the World Series. It was the bottom of the ninth, there were two outs, the Royals were trailing by one and the tying run stood on third base, 90 feet away.

The Kansas City Royals are about to party like it's 1985.

The Kansas City Royals' never-say-die attitude kept them alive throughout the postseason, and it helped them wrap up their first World Series title since 1985 with a 7-2 victory over the New York Mets on Sunday.

Another come-from-behind victory in Game 5—their eighth of the postseason—gave them a 4-1 series win over New York.
