Arizona Diamondbacks

Arizona Diamondbacks

Was AJ Hinch a Good Hiring by the Arizona Diamondbacks?

A.J Hinch was the President of Player Developement, before he was hired as head coach of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Bob Melvin lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to thier first divison title in five years when he was hired, before he was fired by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Many people were puzzled by why this happened, wondering why this would help the falling Arizona Diamondbacks record. Look at AJ Hinchs Record with the Diamondbacks compared to Bob Mevins this season.

How the Landscape Has Changed in the Arizona Sports Scene

Welcome to Bizarro, Arizona.

Population: Four Professional Sports Teams

Established: 2009

Ok, can I see a show of hands of everyone that believed this is how the Arizona sports scene would look like half way through 2009?  Anyone?  No, no one.

Well at least you are not alone.

To think that the Arizona Cardinals are not only the best team, but have the best running organization, is a sight I would have never believed.

Arizona Diamondbacks Mid-Season Report Card

Oh, the eternal hope of spring, how fast you fade away.  I feel like a Cubs fan.  Actually, at least recently the Cubs have been making it interesting into September, this Arizona Diamondbacks team lost hope after April.

This season can only be described as the worst season in the history of the team.  Yes, even worse than the 2004 season, because everyone knew the team would be bad that year.

This team had hope, this team had expectations, and this team has crashed hard.

Costly Error Gives Series Sweep to Seattle Mariners

Even as King Felix dominated Sunday's game, the Mariners offense slumbered. It took a crucial mistake from the opposing first baseman to seal a 3-2 Seattle win.

With two outs in the bottom of the ninth and the game tied at two, Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Tony Clark flat-out dropped the throw from third baseman Mark Reynolds on a Franklin Gutierrez groundout.

It wasn't the ideal way to win a game, but I guess it sorta makes up for the one of the Brandon Morrow meltdowns in Texas.

Trade Target: Chris Young

A player with 30/30 potential is not always easy to come by for fantasy baseball owners.  They are the type of players that everyone is looking to stock their roster with, driving their cost up.  Besides that, how many players even have that type of ability to begin with?

Last season there were two players (Grady Sizemore & Hanley Ramirez) who achieved the feat.  That says a lot.

Fantasy Baseball Tonight 5/25: Happy Memorial Day!

While many of us take this day as an extra day off of work, and a reason for a BBQand a great reason for a get together with friends and/or family, let’s not forget what today is really about.

Memorial Day is a day to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country.  The men and women who have given their life in the name of freedom and patriotism.

Showing Love To Scott Schoeneweis; We Are With You

Guys, this is going to be short. I just really feel like BR needs to say something after the death of Scott Schoeneweis's wife today. Not many pepole noticed this before the game, but there was one man not in the bullpen for the D-Backs.

As a Met fan, I have got to see Scott pitch and now I feel a bit closer to him and a bit sorrier for him after his big lose.

This will look like a letter to Scott from me and hopefully the rest of BR, but this is more a way for me to connect to Scott and the rest of his family.

Rain Saves D'Backs From Loss Again

The rain is starting to become the Arizona Diamondbacks best opponent. Count that now as three straight game days without a loss. They have now been rained out two days in a row. I suppose that’s one way to avoid more losses. You know, eventually a sunny day or a roof will find them and unfortunately they will have to go out and play nine.

Arizona Diamondbacks: The Worst Team In Baseball

Just two years ago, the Arizona Diamondbacks were in the NLCS, and were favored to make the World Series. They were a team filled with a lot of young talent, who gelled and would have played for the title had they not run against the crazy winning streak of the Colorado Rockies.

Now, the Rockies and Diamondbacks are competing to be the worst team in baseball.

A Tough Start: The Dan Haren Story

The Counselor is IN: Michael Kaplan

It is probably getting tougher and tougher for Dan Haren to go back to the stadium for each start. Haren has gotten a total of three runs in his first four starts from that Diamondback offense.
