After a flurry of action and talk at Day 1 of the winter meetings, Day 2 ended up being pretty darn busy in its own right.

There were a couple impact moves on the second day of Major League Baseball's annual get-together in Nashville, Tennessee, on Tuesday, most notably Ben Zobrist choosing his new team and Shelby Miller being shipped to a new home.

Adding depth to their catching stable, the Atlanta Braves agreed to a deal with veteran Tyler Flowers on Tuesday.    

According to Mark Bowman of MLB.com, Flowers' deal with the Braves is for $5 million through 2017 with a $4 million option for 2018. 

Utility man Ben Zobrist signed a four-year, $56 million contract with the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, as first reported by Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal.

The Cubs would later confirm the deal would run through the 2019 season. 

New Washington Nationals manager Dusty Baker spoke Tuesday about the domestic violence allegations involving star Cincinnati Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman and MLB's policy on the crime.

Designated hitter Prince Fielder bounced back in a big way in 2015, but his future with the Texas Rangers is reportedly uncertain.

The San Diego Padres announced Tuesday that they traded second baseman Jedd Gyorko and cash considerations to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for outfielder Jon Jay.

The Colorado Rockies attempted to bolster their bullpen Tuesday by coming to terms with a pair of veteran relief pitchers, Jason Motte and Chad Qualls.

The first day of the MLB winter meetings brought some trades (including the Aroldis Chapman deal that is on hold, possibly due to an alleged domestic violence controversy), a few free-agent signings and plenty of rumors.

Baseball's winter meetings have gotten off to a rousing start, with trades—some completed, some falling apart—free agent signings and enough rumor and speculation to fill Dodger Stadium.

Fear not, pitching-needy clubs. There are still plenty of hurlers capable of improving a rotation next season available this winter. 

Over the next few slides, we'll take a look at a handful of pitchers whom teams should pursue now that some of the bigger fish have left the free-agent ocean. Zack Greinke, David Price, Jordan Zimmermann and Jeff Samardzija may have signed elsewhere, but teams still have an opportunity to improve via free agency or the trade market.
