Mike Pelfrey dazzled the Cubs Tuesday night, allowing no runs on three hits and three walks in seven innings. He also struck out six en route to his third win in as many starts. The 26-year-old now has a 0.86 ERA and 1.00 WHIP with a 16:8 K:BB ratio through 21 innings.

The question all fantasy managers are asking now is: How good is Mike Pelfrey ?

NEW YORK- Mike Pelfrey has been one of the few bright spots of the 2010 season. Pelfrey continued that success Tuesday night against the Chicago Cubs.

Mike Pelfrey pitched his best game of the season Tuesday night at Citi Field, pitching seven innings of shutout ball. Pelfrey's split finger was masterful, striking out six, and walking three. 

The main problem plaguing the New York Mets right now is not Omar Minaya, Jerry Manuel, or the pitching staff; it’s the complete lack of certainty.

Will Jerry Manuel still be around in two weeks? Your guess is as good as mine.

It's the call most Mets fans wanted in spring training.

Ike Davis became a fan favorite with his impressive spring, but the Mets organization wanted to see him play more in Triple-A.

They chose to give the first base job to a combination of Fernando Tatis and Mike Jacobs while waiting for Daniel Murphy to return from injury.

Well, that didn't work out so well.

New York Mets’ prospect Ike Davis made his major league debut against the Cubs Monday night.

The 23-year-old left-handed first baseman recorded a hit in his first at-bat, a bloop single to right. In the seventh inning, Davis drove in Jason Bay on a hard-hit grounder up the middle off southpaw Sean Marshall. Davis finished the night 2-for-4 with an RBI.

After a rough road trip, the Mets came back to Citi Field and took care of business as they rolled over the Cubs 6-1.

Jon Neise pitched decently. Though he gave up eight hits and walked three, he managed to strike out seven and make it through 5 2/3 innings.

Fernando Nieve , who relieved Neise in the sixth, ended with the win, as the Mets would all but seal the deal in the seventh inning with a five run rally. Angel Pagan's two-run homer was the spark that got the team rolling.

Ike Davis, the name alone brings shivers down Met Fans spines. Today he will be making his first start of the season and hit sixth behind the hot Jeff Francoeur.
