The 10 Worst Innings by Active MLB Pitchers

There is an old saying that goes something like this: "Some days you get the bear, some days the bear gets you, and some days it doesn't pay to go into the woods."

Those words could be used to describe all of the pitchers in this article. Most of these guys are not bums or "tomato cans". Most are decent pitchers while some are even very good.

When things go badly, they tend to bundle up on you. Ask any of these men and I am sure they will concur.

Not all of them completed the inning. They do have much in common however.

Getting To Know Hisanori Takahashi of the New York Mets

Back in February, when the Mets signed Hisanori Takahashi to a minor league contract, barely anyone noticed.

Now, almost two months into the season, Mets fans are enamored by his talents.

Fantasy Baseball Free Agent Pool – 2010 Speed Demons Vol. 3

Just because you’ve slipped behind in the Stolen Base category doesn’t mean you can’t catch up.  Here are some reasonably available SB threats.

MLB Featured Columnists' Poll: The Best Prospects at Each Position

For fans of teams who have already given up on 2010, the most exciting time of the year is fast approaching: prospect season.

We've already seen call-ups like Starlin Castro, Ike Davis, and Justin Smoak.

2010 MLB All-Star Game: Give Some Love to Rod Barajas of the New York Mets

The first round of National League All-Star votes have been counted, and as can be expected, it’s slim pickings for the Amazins.

David Wright is already 73,000 votes behind current third base leader Placido Polanco in one of the closest-fought All-Star battles, and Jose Reyes will need something resembling a miracle if he is to catch Jimmy Rollins or Hanley Ramirez for the starting shortstop gig.

Fantasy Baseball Box Score Breakouts: 5/25/10

Here’s a look at the unheralded players who played well yesterday.

When To Expect Carlos Beltran Back

It goes without saying that Carlos Beltran is a crucial part of the Mets lineup. Since his microfracture surgery in January, the question has been when he will return to the Mets. However, no one has been able to answer this.

The Mets moved Beltran to the 60 day disabled list today. This is more of a procedural move than a sign of anything else. The Mets needed to clear a space on their 40- man roster for the recently acquired Justin Turner. Beltran was put on the DL on March 26, so the move will not impact his return date.

Mets Execute On Offense As They Defeat Phillies

NEW YORK-- After two thrilling wins against the defending AL champion Yankees, the Mets opened up their series with the defending NL champion Phillies, looking to gain ground in the NL East.

They sent knuckleballer R.A. Dickey to the mound, trying to throw the Phillies off balance for a second straight game as they faced Tim Wakefield on Sunday.

Dickey, coming off of a solid outing against the Nationals in his first start on Wednesday, wasn't lights-out tonight, but was good enough and got the big outs he needed to get by the potent Phillies lineup.

Mark Teixeira an All-Star? I Think Not

With the current All-Star voting tallies, I'm forced to ask the question, "Is it time for some changes regarding the selection of Major League Baseball's All-Star teams?"

As of today, May 25th, Mark Teixeira is the leading vote getter for 1st basemen in the American League.  Yet Teixeira is batting an abysmal .209 and, in his own words, "can't get any worse."

Breaking Up The Blue Jays and Why They Have a Chance To Contend

Many of the so called experts predicted the Toronto Blue Jays to end up in the cellar in the AL East.

So far, this hasn't happened as the Blue Jays have stayed within striking distance in the AL east, and currently own the AL's third best record.

How have they done this you may ask? Well, it is simple. They currently lead the league in home runs and the pitching staff has stepped up and pitched pretty consistently.
